Found we have a new Home Bargains in Bury today - it is massive (and our third!) Managed to get all the bits for DS1's stocking in there (save Christmas sweets) for less than £10.
Sure someone said they were making a Cars hamper for someone. If it helps, I got:
Cars shower gel/wash 69p
Cars foam car kits (Mater and Lightening) 39p each (£1.50 in Morrisons)
Cars eraser sets (plastic cars with erasers underneath) 49p (two cars in each got three sets)
Cars Jigsaw 59p
They also have cars raincoats (plastic macs) £1.99
Cars 'body puffs' - mater, lightening and Finn McMissile (puff with a plastic car on - already got these) 39p
(got loads of other bits too)
Hope this helps someone x0 -

Omo I had never heard of a chuck box but what a blooming good idea! You should get selling them ready done - I'm sure there would be a market for it
Thank you all for keeping me in chuck - pain free today, but lots of work to catch up on. I could sleep for a week lol
Nana you poor thingI really hope you are feeling better now

Yes DD2 has moved out, its not that i dont want them to spread their wings but i just think she is trying to do everything at once, and its too much, but they have to make their own mistakes otherwise they wont learn and all i can do is be here for them if things dont work.

My two are also Lego nuts, well more so Lego friends at the moment. Create for creativity but oh so expensive! Ill be keeping an eye on amazon for dropping in price.
Nothing bought for Christmas these past few days but have managed to pin down a limit for nieces and nephews. I'm thinking a craft pack for the girls - you can pick up craft items for pence so can gather quite a collection. It's just how to present it. Last year I put together a baking set in a pink mixing bowl. Looked lovely, not sure about googley eyes and pipe cleaners this year!
My nephew will be 1 year old at Christmas and running a bit of a blank with him.0 -
Lukesmom and Fuddle - if you would consider second hand, could you try Gumtree/ebay/Facebook selling pages for Lego?
Fuddle - could you wrap your craft hamper using a tray as the base? the tray could be used as a craft worksurface for the child? Or if you presented it all in a storage box that could be used to keep the bits together when they aren't being used?
For my friend's 1 yo daughter this year I'm buying her personalised bunting with her name on it (from ebay). Can go in her nursery.
Thinking of you all on this drizzly day! It's a year tomorrow until we get married, I have been hinting strongly that I would like some flowers - so I'll keep you posted on that! Thank you for asking how prep. is going. So far have church, village hall and caterer booked. Also in the biggest MSE move I've made - I may borrow and wear my friend's wedding dress!
I also managed to save over £10 by just by being polite to the seller (on ebay) of my bridesmaid's dresses - every little helps and all that!0 -
Morning, wet and warm here, the garden is loving it I can feel a mass weeding session when it stops.
Nanamia, flu? you? ooo? hope you are well on the mend, you are missed hugely.
Good luck Feisty.
What a lot of busy Christmas activity you are having at the moment, I'm full of envy (and good intentions) but need to check every thing in the Christmas stock room and re-list the needs.
Have booked the mini-trip for DGS and me. Also taking his dad, (driver) and his other grandma (company for me). Going to York, to the railway museum, and the Dungeon, flamingoland, and lightwater valley. His dad will take him to the theme parks, and the grannies will shop and 'take tea' either at Betty's in York or Harrogate, as a treat. It hasn't worked out too expensive, saver rooms with Travelodge, 20% off Flamingoland tickets and 30% off Lightwater. Museum is free, and with park and ride, bus passes and money off petrol, we should be ok. Gran has agreed to share food costs, and as none of us need evening entertainment we should manage nicely.
Now I need to do something with DGS and DD together, maybe look for something with water!0 -
POPPYGIRL - is it these candle holders you are looking for?

Thank you, but it's the small votive candle holders that are shown in the picture that I'm after!!
Although seeing the PK's beautiful picture with the lantern - I maybe should change my decor to incorporate them too!0
