Feisty - hoping that your dizzy problem is sorted. I had vertigo a few years ago which then also developed into hearing loss and tinnitus (meniere's disease). Mention it to your gp so you can be monitored.
Stuck inside with a grotty cold so might get some crafty bits out and make a few cards....
Hoping everyone has a great weekend x0 -
Can anyone suggest anywhere to buy candle-making wax without paying more on p&p than on wax? I save all my jars to make marmalade, jam, cherries in brandy etc but have so many spare, I fancy making some Christmas scented jar candles. Any suggestions gratefully accepted0

Christmas is on hold at the moment but i have had an idea for my oh's , im after a cafetiere [sp] coffee grinder and coffee ive seen them in Whittards but are there any other shops you would reccommend ?
a little cautionary tale . my parents have been burgled the low lives waited until my dad had taken the dog out then brazenly entered the house unfortunately/fortunately [depends how you look at it ] all other family members were upstairs as it was pre 9am.
they got away with approx £1000 worth of electronics.
They have been caught the police have been amazing, be aware of what you have lying around and think about locking doors even when you are home !This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
sun is shining, garden is beckoning, waiting for Skype from china, then out to chop things down!
Jobs still to do indoors list is overlong but can wait, mustn't waste this sunshine. Quick, find something to wash, then it can go on the washing line.
I'm gonna make the brownies for todays pudding they look sooooo scrummy...... then I'll try and post a pic of the disaster they are bound to be and get a laugh from it.
Dgs won't care what they look like, just whether he can have another later, and a trip to the dentist no doubt. have a lovely day, sod the battery, ignore the snow, make a cuppa and write your christmas list and enjoy sunday xxxx0 -
ChrissyG, our posts crossed, what mean lowlife rats they are. sympathies to your parents, glad the police caught the slimeys but its the violation of your home that burns the worst, and they can't put that right. My parents were burgled on a Christmas eve, as they left the house to deliver Christmas presents for our children, so wicked, and so low.0

Chrissyg - so sorry to hear about your parents and I'm amazed that the culprits were caught. Usually, it's a crime number for the insurance company then nothing happens
We have a couple of traveller camps a few miles away so there can be several 'rag & bone' vans per hour and you see them eyeing everything up. I daren't leave garage doors open ever as these scum have been found wandering round people's houses when they were in (even our local councillor's!) and will help themselves to kids bikes and toys from gardens. Sad state of affairs.0 -
I haven't got as far as making cards today, but I've tried out a batch of biscotti. I've used the Paul Hollywood recipe but amended to use dark chocolate, white chocolate and lemon essence instead of orange zest. They are a bit crumbly, so I'll have to work on this, but I can make batches for my Christmas hampers. Really cheap and easy to make but I'm sure some nice cellophane bags and ribbon will make them look festive0

ChrissyG I am so sorry you and your family have had to go through this. As others have said it is the home invasion that is more painful/difficult to deal with.
Glad the police caught them, fingers crossed they will find themselves being made an example of! Thank goodness no-one came downstairs during the burglary, you never know how far they will take things to not get caught[/COLOR]2024 Challenges

ICEMICE sorry you have a horrible cold, i have always wanted to make biscotti and never got round to it, must have a go this year! I dont know anywhere to get candle wax, but i would have thought Hobbycraft or even The Range????
CHRISSYG so sorry to hear about your parents being burgled, hope they are ok, these people are absolute scum!! My DD2s boss had an attempted break-in last week in our village, luckily they were in and he heard a noise before they actually got in the house, but there were 5 of them??? Ive always been paranoid about keeping everything locked, after my sister was burgled, it really affected her and she is one tough cookie.
MRSINVISIBLE hope you had a good day in the garden
