So sorry to read about your loss Pinksteps, sending you all my good thoughts and wishes.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I am almost at the £500 mark for the deposit! I know it is a long way off (and only a year and a few weeks to get it done) but it feels so good knowing I am on the way!
Had someone contact me desperate to ship out two necklaces with guaranteed delivery for Saturday. I usually take at least a day per item, but luckily had one already made and agreed to do it. I used the Royal Mail website to calculate the costs, but annoyingly it didn't tell me that they charge an additional £3 per item for next day delivery on a Saturday. Has pretty much wiped out any profit that I had. Hopefully the Mothers will enjoy their presents though2024 Challenges

Maybe you could have a competition for the best creation. Also I have seen skylanders Tattoos which could be done at your party and I have just bought a load of skylanders stickers which you could use in party bags. Or could also put a packet of collectors cards in each party bag xxx HTH xxx

Hello everyone.
I have been very unwell and have not had the energy to even turn the laptop on.
I have had more blood taken, and am borderline on so many things I am go to fall off something. My liver function is borderline, my thyroid gland is borderline under active. My cholesterol is high even though I don't eat eggs, dairy or fatty foods. He has put me on statins, but only 20g because of my liver. He also told me go on a 600 cal diet, as I cant lose weight on 1000 cals.
I am going to go back in a couple of weeks and see another doctor, as the one I saw this week retired over 10 years ago and was only covering because my doctor was off sick.
Will go and see her and make sure she agrees with the doctor I saw today. Not sure about the 600 cal diet being good for me. Especially as my thyroid is iffy.
I would feel better if I could just wake up. I go to bed tired and get up tired. I then spend all day tired.:(FeistyFidget wrote: »I am almost at the £500 mark for the deposit! I know it is a long way off (and only a year and a few weeks to get it done) but it feels so good knowing I am on the way!
FF this explains so much. Your signature says June 2013. I never liked to ask how you where going to make an extra £16,500 in 12 weeks.0 -
Pinksteps - so sorry to hear about your dad but glad he's out of pain and at peace. When my best friend was ill we'd not long moved to our current house and I was getting the spare room ready so she could come and stay for a little holiday - you know, buying new bedding etc., was doing it all in pretty lavendar and white. Sadly, she died before she could come and I couldn't bring myself to use anything I'd bought or to use the colours I'd planned on. Silly, but it was just how I felt.
Hanley - that was a really nice thing to do. Sometimes it's those little things that can really lift someone's day and £2 is a lot of money when you haven't got any so good on you.
Feisty - your signature (or whatever we call that bit at the bottom of our posts) says June 2013 - do you mean 2014 or are you expecting a lottery win :rotfl:It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Pink steps I am so sorry for your loss, I know it isn't much but whenever you feel sad, remember we are all thinking about you and wishing you lots of love.
The same goes to everyone having a tough time - remember there is an online 'family' here willing you onwards and upwards!
OMO, that doesn't sound good at all! Especially Dr Relic, definitely get back to see what your usual doctor recommends. How is family doing if you're feeling poorly? Hope they're helping out at home!
Hanley that was such a lovely gesture, will come back to you three-fold I'm sure.
For those of you worrying about not contributing financially, don't ever underestimate what you being at home means for your family, nor what it means to be striving to achieve something for the good of your family. You all know I lost my dad when he was 62 and my mum got dementia in her early 50s and I would give anything to have time back just to enjoy knowing them and learning from them. I get married next week and just having photos of them in my clutch bag instead of them stood beside me is heartbreaking but I know the person I am today is in part because of them, however dysfunctional it got at times! I remember things like walks we went on, the jokes we used to have, and the cakes my mum made for birthdays and I look back with admiration for how they strived to be better parents than their own had been. My parents had lots and lots of failings (it's no exaggeration to say I may have ended up in care if it were a different time/location) but the one thing I never think is 'we never had any money'. We didn't...but it means nothing to me now, all that counts is those happy memories and being proud of who they were, and who they made me.
Sorry, didn't mean to get so serious!0 -
OMO you poor love. Sending you great big hugs. I'm obviously not a medical expert but 600 calories a day is dangerously low! I understand that perhaps you struggling to lose weight with 1200 cals, but it seems very foolish for them to recomend such a cut ESPECIALLY with all your worrying test results! Please, please, please hold off on the diet change until you have had a second opinion.
I am sure you were sticking to your 1200 calories religiously, but have you tried myfitness pal? I used to calorie count and struggled to shift any weight, once I signed up and had the amazing tech figure out calories, fat (sat, mono, poly etc), sugar, protein, carbs etc the weight slowly started to come off.
Yes I am dense, hadn't even realized my signature was a year out! What a fool :rotfl:2024 Challenges

I actually put on weight eating 1000 cals a day. I also walk for over 2 miles every day.
It is obviously my thyroid that is make my weight go up and making me tired. Liver damage can also cause fatigue.
The old fool also told me I didn't need to back for a year.
Who gets put on statins for a year without having the levels checked.
And who has borderline antibodies/protein levels in their liver and waits a year to get retested.
Not me.0 -
When they tried to put my hubby on statins, the pharmacist warned him that if he started taking them, he'd be on them for life! It was to reduce his cholesterol so he asked the pharmacist what else he could do to sort it. Diet & exercise he was told. So he started walking, swimming and cutting portion size. Cholesterol is much better now! What do these Drs think sometimes!???! Crazy!Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27
