Sky cease order issue

Hi,
I was wondering if some could help me.
On Thursday I decided to cancel my account with Sky (I have TV, phone and broadband with them) and move both my broadband and phone line to Plusnet due to the fibre offer. I rang Sky and everything went through fine, but the next morning I received a call from Plusnet saying that Sky had put a "cease order" on my phone line. They asked me to call Sky and get them to cancel the order. I called Sky and was told that it takes 2 weeks to cancel a cease order, I then called Plusnet back to let them know what was happening and the man on the other side of the phone seemed confused as to why Sky had told me this, as at Plusnet it usually takes a maximum of 48 hours. He also told me that if they don't get the line changed over to them in time I will have to pay £49.99 to a engineer.
I was wondering if any one had any advice for me?
Thanks.

You've done this entirely the wrong way around.
A cease order to Sky will disconnect the line, and your number will then be lost. You need to contract with Plusnet first and they will then contact Sky-Sky will then contact you to confirm that you wish the transfer to go ahead.
£49 is the provision charge for a new line or reconnection.
Try to cancel both instructions and start again.
PS: by signing up by phone rather than online you are missing out on the cashbacks. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
