2002 Fiesta LX 1.4 TDCI Clutch replacement
Has anyone recently had a clutch replaced in one of these & if so what sort of cost was it?
I'm guessing that it has a dual mass flywheel from what I've read online, which will need to be changed at the same time.
I know it will differ from garage to garage & area but an approximate cost would be good.
Thank you

The kit seems to be around £330 - £400. Budget maybe 10 hours labour.
All in probably £500 - £6000 -
My son has a 1.6 petrol Fiesta 2006 and a new clutch cost him £450 all in at the local clutch centre in Kidderminster in November."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

£950 ish at a independent and £1200 ish at a dealer.
If it is the type i think it to be, the entire suspension subframe has to be removed.
A very labouring Job, 8-10 hours at £50ish an hour, plus parts, plus Vat.

NOT Mr Clutch.... Mickey mouse clutch plates..
Mates brother came to me because his new clutch had failed. Could not disengage it.
They blamed the crank moving...???
I stripped it down and found several pieces of clutch plate wedged together.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thank you everyone, beyond my pocket, I was hoping it would be £300ish.
We don't have a Mr Clutch near us, I had found them online & hoped that I could get a quote online but you can't.0 -

You're seriously paying £50 an hour?? :eek:0 -
What would be the going rate in your part of the world Paul?
I alternate between two local guys who bother charge £10 an hour. They both work from their respective homes - one has a custom built garage with a lift that holds four cars at any one time, the other uses just his garage and has a lift fitted in that.
Both would be more than capable of the job in question. I got a flywheel, clutch and pressure plate fitted to a Meriva there recently for £450 all in. They both use a local motor factors that i know to be good, and reasonably priced. For an oil and filter service with pre-mot check i paid £40 last week on a zafira.
I guess its down to where you live though. Certainly in or around a city you're unlikely to get rates like that, but still certainly worth pricing around.0 -

I got paid more than that as a mechanic. Working for myself I'd be wanting at least £30/hr.
Do you get a guarantee with those two ?0
