The way insurance works these days, I'm always 100% honest.
Got 3 points on the bike. Called car insurer and bike insurer to tell them (As I should, thats an obvious one).
Motorbike got written off in a non fault claim. Declared to both car and bike insurers.
Fault claim in the works van, was going to forget it until the nice lady on the phone said "Just need the details to update the database". Also declare. I can still tick no when it asks if the claim affected my NCB
Luckily all of the above made virtually no difference to my insurance costs (1st year £30 rise in car insurance after a fault claim, the average rise in premiums were about the same anyway).0 -
So you tell a lie and your not insured. Isnt there a post in the insurance forum where they have a bill for £30,000??
Which they will have to pay from their own pocket. They were worried about losing their house.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Most insurers subscribe to CUE (Claims and Underwriting Exchange) so they will find out you have lied. This could lead to a cancelled policy which will be something else you have to disclose in future. Its not worth lying.0

I had a theft claim on a motorcycle. Tried to tell my car insurance company about it, and they didn't want to know!?0

Depends on the insurers. Some treat each policy as a separate entity and won't care if you claim on one policy as it won't affect others you hold with them.
Others will want to know every detail and will up the price of every policy you hold with them at renewal.Never Knowingly Understood.

Im gonna lie!
So, you'll be spending money on a policy which just stops your vehicle being picked up by ANPR systems as uninsured.
Should you need to claim, that's when the insurers will research your history and if they find out you've lied, declare the policy invalid and refuse to pay out.
