Well, I decided it wasn't worth the half hour drive to my nearest supermarket but I still managed to bag a turkey crown at half price in a local Budgens, so I'm content.

    Merry Christmas everyone!

Got to Asda in Watford around 3pm and they were just reducing the whole salmon. These were already half-price for Xmas. Got a couple redcued from £12 to £8. Got a friend coming over later to put some stuff in my fridge, and he gets the pleasure of cutting up the salmon - one of them is for him anyway.
  • just back from sainsburys and morrissons in york.
Sainsburys had salmon steaks reduced from £6 to £1.50 pack of two whole mackeral at 50p, 4 packs of bagels 35p, premium sausages from £3 down to £1, steak mince £3.90 down to £1.50
At morrisons I got tons of packs of garlic and coriander nan bread at 2 for 9p and stocked my freezer up with bread at 9p per loaf. Got a pork joint down from £12 to £2.99 and loads of trays of roasting veg and potato in goosefat all down from £1 to 29p and all can be frozen.
Not much reduced meat in there. They were only knocking about 20% off it and I didn't feel like waiting around for another hour just in case it went lower.
Anyway I got enough for myself and a neighbour to fill our freezers and was careful not to buy anything that I wouldn't normally eat.

I was pushed out of the way by one very nasty old smelly lady so I pushed my way back in and told her not to be so rude.

Went out earlier into Stourbridge not much on offer.Waitrose still had their turkeys only about 1/3 off at 4.30 (closed at 5pm) loads still on shelf and they said they wouldn't reduce any further ???? But did get 3 packs of parmesan roast potatoes down to 15p a pack.Went Sainsbury similar story but picked up on or two bits reduced to 10p Yoghurt,Homous, Wholemeal loaf, stuffed cooked chicken sliced. Then went to Aldi loads of turkeys and Geese still on shelves reduced to half price. Had a word with a nice young lady there asked if they were reducing any further, she initially said no but when she looked at the shelf and saw how many were left she decided to reduce them again. So i got myself a 4.8 kilo Bronze Free range Turkey for £7 and a goose also for £7. Goose now in freezer with the turkey dressed and ready to go in oven tommorrow. So all in all not a bad little haul. Oh and 2 bags of clementines for 69p.
    Merry Christmas
