Rechargeable Batteries

Who make the best, longest lasting rechargeable batteries? I have mainly used Jessops own name AA/AAA for digital cameras and found it doesn't take long before they will not hold a charge for very long. I had the impression that you should be getting close to a thousand recharges but nowhere near. Any help appreciated.

I use Uniross NiMH ones and one of their neat little Globe Trotter chargers (which come with 4 x 2300mAh AA's). Again, good quality doesn't come cheap, but shop around.

Having said that, rechargeable batteries of any type, make or quality can just suddenly fail for no readily apparent reason.

The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.
