    Morning all,

it is bucketting down here. I pity my poor bin men for having to work today. My usual collection is on Monday but they have collected today instead. Maybe they get Christmas Eve off because of it. Anyway, they work hard so they deserve it.

Men have now broke up for Christmas. Ive hidden the clock in the bedroom as hubby needs to relax and unwind. No more looking at the clock. Ive told him he can go to bed when he wants and wake up when he wants. When he's at home he's always clock watching.... well not this Christmas period he's not! He's wound up like a spring. He's already growled about the Christmas tree not being right (pity he didnt say that last weekend when i dressed it).

Our second eldest son came to visit last night too. We havent seen him for months when he started an online drunken rant on Facebook which upset quite a few people (me included but mainly aimed at his Dad). He didnt remember a thing the next day.

He's a mess, even more so than he was when we saw him last. He'd got something to show us he said. He opened an top opening holdall to reveal two puppies. They were born on his birthday 9 weeks ago. This was the first time he'd taken them out. Apparently there was 6 of them but the Mother lay on 4 of them and to save the remaining two he hand fed them every three hours, day and night for 6 weeks.

I worry myself sick about him and am worried even more now he's got two extra mouths to feed. Still, he was never very good at taking advice but he's happy in the mess he's created for himself. Thats something to be thankful of.

Which leaves me a big hole in my heart and questions to be answered that will probably never be answered. How come 2 of my children are such a complete and utter mess when the other three are such a credit to me? I guess, i'll never know.

Jobs for me today include grocery shopping and catching up with the washing. Ive got piles of it.

Hope you have a warm day (if not a dry one) and keep safe.

    Morning all,

Wet here too, and I have a load of washing to do. Sore throat is gone, but i am now very chesty :D, and still very snotty ! feel like I am on the mend though.

Today we need to pop to the local shop (still have noot been :D) and then nip to home sense, to look for a new dog beg, then home, this afternoon I might make up the cauli broc and leek cheese for xmas day, I have 3 veggies coming, and they request this every year, along with the rest of the roast.

The sistercas fund has been brilliant for me, I bought all my xmas presents with it, and have some left to to towards my food shop :T and I bought my trees with it, I am going to put mine up to £10 a week next year. its great :j

Food shopping being delivered tonight, which leaves enough time to nip out if anything is missing.

IM Happy Birthday to you

Luna, Happy Birthday to you too xx

Tru, at least its over now xx

Judi, Your poor son, its a terrible addiction, do you think the puppies will be safe ? :o

    Have good days all xx

    Morning everyone

Hugs to those that need/want them that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Dark and miserable here this morning, still raining and very wet underfoot.

DH up and off to work stupid early. I got up stupid early too as DS2 has his moped training today and dad came to pick him up at 6.45am as it's a almost an hour's drive to the tuition centre. I'm going later to collect him. Did manage to get up and get sorted and was in the SM by 7.40am - there were people in there but certainly wasn't heaving and all the shelves were freshly packed so got everything I wanted so now won't be visiting again - just have to go to butchers at 7am on Xmas eve to collect the fresh meat hamper - then I'm done with going out and about. We're having a "xmas do" at mum's tomorrow, sis and BIL from down south arrived on Thurs night and bro and SIL will arrive later today. Managed to buy a pork loin joint so there will be a choice of turkey or pork (or both for those that want both!) I'm in charge of desserts so last night made the individual pavlovas and will make the cheesecake base shortly need then to make the filling but fridge is a bit packed at the moment so may have to do that later once friends have gone home so I can use fridge space! Friends coming over tonight so am just doing a nice salad - have some lovely thick cut ham, turkey, pork, then all the nice and naughty bits to go with the salad, we'll have hot new potatoes to go with it too, then a choice of cheesecake or caramel cream bar dessert (it's new, so thought we'd try something different).

Got back from our night away at good time yesterday morning, really enjoyed our night away and the concert was brilliant, will definitely stay at that hotel again, met a couple from Cornwall who were checking in at the same time and so we shared a taxi from hotel to the venue and back afterwards - so much easier than taking the car it's only a 5-10 mins ride but as everyone is coming out at the same time from the same car park it's congested - we walked to the taxi rank which was literally out of the doors and along the roadway and we could see the taxis as soon as we came out of the doors, jumped in and was back at the hotel within 10 mins - so we decided on a few beers in the bar to round off a very enjoyable evening. DH and I are going to London in a couple of weeks as he has caravan meeting to attend, so I get to spend most of the day in Oxford st, can't wait! We've managed to get tickets for a show on the Sat night so am really looking forward to that.

Need to crack on as I have to collect DS1 later.

Have a great day everyone, stay safe and well x

    morning all!

wet here again! hopeI can get to work ok - have to go the back lanes as the main road is flooded.

Have had a tidy round, cleaned the kitchen and bathroom floors. Only a couple of bits of ironing left to do and I've also changed the bed. WM is on - at least 2 loads to do today including dog bedding.

Tru - glad your evening out is over x

RR - I think I'll join you in trying to put a tenner a week away for Christmas in my Sistercas fund - might set it up with online banking automatically in case I forget.

Happy Birthday Island Maid and Luna :bdaycake:

    Have a great day all,

Flutterby I'll be watching Strictly at work! I think Nimble Kimble will win too!

pouring with rain here and were all still in pjs.feel a bit bad as my hubbie has just popped in for a coffee and hes already done 8 hrs work and has now gone back out in the rain.
ive iced my cake and made scones. made a rice pudding in my brand new slow cooker that arrived yesterday...its a partition one so i can do two things at once!! so exciting!!
should be doing the house but always end up in the kitchen as i enjoy that so much.
got such a bad head today. its been three days now and hasnt shifted at all. its even woken me up in the night.
did my big christmas shop last night in a@da. it was 3pm and really quite calm and nice in there. some aisles we were the only ones down there!! it was good to get it done. i am hosting two "dos" and the total bill came to £210. not os at all but i have two weeks of food hopefully. ( prob not!)
kids want to go to the shop to do some "private" shopping so i said i could go and have a cup of tea in the cafe and they could go round the shop. its going to be busy so rather them than me.
have a good saturday everyone x

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Wet, wet, wet here today - dogs and I splashed around the field first thing and then I went into town to pick up prescription for DH.
Tenner a week in sistercas fund might just be doable...
Washing is draped around radiators today - but hopefully not much to do now before Christmas. My Mum always tried to ensure all washing and ironing up to date before 25th and I sort of feel I need to do the same! Guess it means you start the New Year off without a huge pile of ironing around...
Have been getting up early to make DH a waistcoat for Christmas - didn't want him to see it, although he knew the material had been purchased long ago. He just accepts that I've not had time lately...am looking forward to him opening present as then he'll know why I've been up early the last few days! Well, I do tend to wake up at silly times so it's been good to use the time well. Have huge stash of material so may carry on into the New Year with this!
Had all the Christmas fare sorted earlier this week, but realised I'd not really sorted the next three days! Anyway, brevilles for lunch today, chicken stir fry tonight.
Hope you're not all manically rushing round today! Take care anyway.
    Resolution:
    Think twice before spending anything!
