online estate agents

please post if you sold your house via an online estate agent in 2012. not sure if you are allowed but post the name of the company you used and your experience.
im trying to work out whether to use an online estate agent or a high street estate agent.
dont need any posts trying to persuade me why a high street agent is better.
want to sell my house for x price and not interested if a high street agent could achieve higher price.
high street agent wants to charge 1% + Vat = £3000 vs £500 for online estate agent.
seems a no brainer.

I sold in April through Housenetwork, if you do a search on here you will find a few of us happy with them and the commission we saved by using them and the upfront fee option.
cost me about £450 and i would recommend them, they get you on rightmove very quickly, you have control over the ad and the pics and they send you a regular report on the stats of your listing on rightmove, how many hits, etc
you can also save 5% with my discount code PQXALIGMWQ as I did when I used the code of another MSE'r0 -
Here's a long thread about Housenetwork

If you do an advanced search you will see that this topic has been discussed a number of times.
GL with your saleIt is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

I used the same company and was delighted with them. It was only £400 a year ago and saved thousands, You do need to do your own viewings.Je suis sabot...0

Surely you're phrasing the question badly? If you want to decide between the two, the question should be
Did you sell your house in 2012? If so,
Did you use an online or high-street agent (or any other method), and with what result?0 -
There is a mirror question to ask:
Did you buy a house in 2012, if so, how did you find it?IANAL etc.0 -
or did you sell you house in 2012 with online or high street agent and how much did it cost?Je suis sabot...0

Irrelevant. The OP knows his costs already.0 -
I used 121 move.co.uk online estate agent recently. My property went on the market in July and was sold by October, completed 2 weeks ago. I saved about £1000 compared to what you would using a high street agents, would definitely use them again. You do have to do your own viewings but well worth it for saving that kind of ££££.Win's of 2014 so far-Maxfactor mascara, £50 Pizza Express Voucher, Dr Oetker Pizza, Nuby sippy cup :j:beer:0

Doing the viewings yourself isn't a problem for anyone with a bit of common sense, but you need to be really sure that you know what you're doing when it comes to checking out your buyers properly and negotiating on price. We bought a house sold by Housenetwork this year. Nobody ever checked us out financially, nobody ever asked what our budget was and the price negotiation was a joke - we put in a very cheeky offer and they practically bit our hand off. We loved the house, there was nothing else on the market we liked and we'd have happily paid 10% more.
Anyway, the reason I'm posting this is because I'm sure our vendors were very happy with Housenetwork's service - they sold their house and, as far as they're concerned, they saved thousands. They'll never know that a good agent would have got them £50k more!
Having said all that though, I've met many estate agents who'd have done an equally rubbish job and they'd have charged a lot more for it!0
