Cheapest way to get rid of rubbish..........

Just had some new kitchen units and carpets fitted.
Can anybody advise cheapest way to get rid of the old ones ???
Hire a skip, Pay your local rubbish removals or can I use a van and make a one time payment and use the local council tip ????
I live in Preston Lancs.

Yes I do have a car.
Heck lot of carpet to go though and loads and loads of MDF borads.
I guess couple of trips might to the trick

Offer them on Freecycle.0

freecycle / local paper free ads. People will take kitchen units for use in garages etc for storage.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0

In Manchester I can go on the councils website and arrange 2 free collections a year for up to 3 items each time. I recently had an old gas cooker and a large wardrobe I had dismantled collected.
Any extra collections are £21.50 each time.

If they're not in absolutely terrible condition, I'd put them on Freecycle/Freegle, etc.0
