  • Hi there,

I am pretty brand new to this whole 'cashback' scene, and having had a bit of a investigation, I found myself signing up to Quidco...

I have done one of the 'free' money things, (I think...)
It's signing up to Credit Expert for a 'free trial' and getting £20 cashback for doing so, (via Quidco)...

My question is this: when should I cancel my 'membership' to Credit Expert, so I don't go past the 30 day trial?
To not mess up, potentially, getting the cash back, when should I call and cancel?

I think my cashback status is 'validated' on Quidco...

I'm trying to do my part of the research, but it's just not knowing at what point in the whole process does one cancel a 'membership'??

If you had a quick second to reply, I would be most thankful!!

Thank you for taking your time to read my question :)
    Kind regards,
    Kelly
  • What is the process with quidco.First time user and the cashback tracked on the 19th Aug but no payment has been received as yet.How long does it normally take and what is the process for querying payment?
    Thanks in advance

I usually try to cancel about 2 weeks before the next payment. That gives time for the subscription to trigger the cashback but plenty of time for me to get round to cancelling & for the cancellation to take effect. There isn't one "right answer", you need to find what works for you.

Side note: as soon as I subscribe I always enter a reminder on my email calendar to remind me to cancel - I'm awful at remembering things like that and it can easily cost more money than I save!

It should "track" within a week or so but the actual payout often isn't for some months.

Excluding one or two oddities all of my Quidco transactions up to June have been paid into my bank account. :D One of the 2 in July has paid, the other is still sitting at "tracked", and I haven't had any of the August payments yet. Hope that gives you an idea of the usual timescales.

If yours has been sitting for a while, or hasn't tracked, have a look at the "raise a query" option under Quidcare support. The only time I've used it, it told me how soon the particular retailer usually pays & how long I had to leave before I could raise the query.

It's been quire a while since this thread was used so I thought I would bring everyone up to date in the cashbacking world :)

Cashback Cheif and Cashback Cascade have gone bump

    Rpoints has been sold

The previous owner of Rpoints has started a new 100% site called iMutual

CashbackKings has merged with Froggy Bank

Cashinco which stopped trading early in 2010 seems to have resurfaced - I've not been paid yet though

TopcashBack no longer charges any admin fees and now has a forum

Fat Cheese has closed it's forum

CashbackXtreme, VoucherXtreme and Freesnacks have all been sold to the owner of The Money Back Site which is a new site this year.

That's all the news I can think of up to now. :D

Wow, I never realised there was so many of these sites floating about. I'm just with Quidco, TCB and I just joined Greasy Palm. Thanks for the heads up! :)
I hate twitches, but I LOVE glitches!!!

There's LOADS more besides the ones I've posted, but there are some very dodgy ones so it's always worth asking what other people think of them before joining.

TBH I think I would give Greasy Palm a miss ..........:o

    Cashillion is re-branding (again!)

    "Important Information Regarding Cashillion Connect

    June 15th, 2011
CashillionConnect is undergoing some changes this month and its important that we keep everyone up to date with whats going on.
    • CashillionConnect.com is changing hands to Scooch Marketing Limited.
    • CashillionConnect.com is becoming TheScoochHub.
    • Scooch Marketing Limited is a registered company of Great Britian and is a partner company of Cashillion UK Limited.
    • All Affiliate Links, Tracking Links, Procedures and Payment Runs will remain the same.
If you have any questions please use the contact us form on the site to contact a member of the support team.
We wish all of our affiliates all the best in the future and any colleagues who are working on TheScoochHub will communicate with you shortly."

    Also on the same link:

    "CashillionConnect Management Changes

    May 24th, 2011
We would like to announce that CashillionConnect.com is no longer managed by Entirety Media Limited."

EntiretyMedia.co.uk announced at the beginning of May that they had stopped acting on behalf of CashillionConnect as they hadn't been paid for several months! Quite amazing considering that they only managed CashillionConnect since February 1st 2011 - a total of 3 months! EntiretyMedia has now wiped all traces of Cashillion from their website, and I can't say I blame them.

Many of us know that this has happened many times before with this outfit, the company gets into debt and owes lots of money to cashback sites, and eventually collapses without paying the cashback sites or their members the money thats owed them.

A new company is born (but usually the same people are involved) and it has a fresh start (meaning the money previously owed doesn't get paid) and so on....

My advice would be to avoid all campaigns from this network and to ask any cashback site that has them to remove all offers so that the owner of the above company doesn't have the opportunity to make any more money at other peoples expense.

Captain Cash has closed. In theory all cashback has been transferred to a new website: Major Money Back. However, they've shut down my account in the transfer and made me forfeit £27 of cashback for no reason.
  • Quidco have been clogging up my inbox with messages that are not getting anywhere. I noticed recently that they had alerted me to seven cases where Healthspan had declined claims by Quidco on my behalf. There seemed to be no facility for listing more than one item at a time on Quidco's help site, so I sent them a direct e-mail listing all seven, complete with dates, order numbers and values of purchase. A few days later I had seven e-mails in rapid succession simply saying they were dealing with my request. Today this list has been followed by a fresh declined claim notification, inviting me to submit .......
This sounds like a silly game and I am seriously wondering if Quidco have lost their way in this business.
What do other people think? Have others had similar experiences?
