Thanks for that information mateypeeps, so I can count on 5% cash back from HolidayCitySuperstore and maybe get more ...

Do you know at what stage in the booking the actual cashback percentage is confirmed or will that only show up after a day or more when I can see the transaction and track it? Please forgive my lack of understanding but I can book this holiday for slightly less money though a non-cash back related Travel Agent so before I effectively pay more (on the basis that the cash back refund will make it cheaper in the long term) I just want to be clear about exactly how much cash back I should be entitled to.

Thanks for your help, it's much appreciated.

The affiliate scheme varies for each merchant, I cannot risk guessing how this tracks, or how long the merchant takes to pay up.

Since cashback is never guaranteed, the safest bet is to go for the cheapest purchase price instead.

Otherwise you are essentially gambling, and I have had deals where I followed the rules but the merchant has not tracked and you cannot claim as they refuse (Ciao for example).

From the way you are writing, it would seem you cannot afford to throw away extra money in a gamble that you get more back than the extra it costs.

If it is only a matter of a few pounds then is it worth the hassle, on the other hand, if you only pay a few pounds more, but the return is 10 times that from cashback, then are you prepared to write off the "stake" as it is so little to lose, if it does not work out?

    I cannot decide for you.

Make sure you clear cookies BEFORE logging into TopCashBack (or whatever cashback site you pick) just in case there are tracking problems.

Obvoiusly, you should not clear cookies once you have started the transaction process, or the merchant can not tell who introduced you to them, and so will not pay TopCashBack!!!

So long as TopCashBack record when you went to the merchant through their link,it will show up if you have to raise a manual cashback request.

What I did once was visit a merchant without completing the deal, as a test of tracking, then went through the start of the manual missing cashback process, and stopped when TCB showed me the day and time that I clicked through to the merchant.

Then I returned and completed the deal properly.

I am not saying this guarantees anything, but I would have avoided it if the link had not tracked on the test run.

If TCB cannot determine when you visited someone through them then they cannot chase the merchant up for money.

Have you looked for your travel agent on http://www.smartcashback.co.uk/ or Martin's more limited version, to maximise the chance of cashback.

Bear in mind some cashback sites are more reliable in tracking, paying, and chasing up merchants that do not want to pay up!

I personally avoid GreasyPalm, and the ones that pay only a quarter of what TCB pay!

Thank you thank you! I really appreciate your advice and I am aware (having read through quite a number of posts on this site and elsewhere from disgruntled posters) that cash back is not guaranteed and can, in any event, take months to be paid. I have checked the price of this holiday accommodation on loads of websites and I will probably chose the merchant with the lowest price (before any additional cash back is applied and deducted from the overall cost) which may well mean selecting a merchant with a lower % cash back rate. I will probably use TopCashBack in this instance as from what I have gathered they seem to be a smidge more 'reliable' than Quidco for example, even if they do take longer than the smaller cash back sites to track or actually pay the cash back. With a holiday costing over £2000 the cash back sums range from £65 (at 3%) - to £165 (at 7%).

Thanks again, I will remember to clear all cookies.

I am feeling very stupid. :o
When I click through from quidco to The High Street Web, I enter something in the search box, select "shopping results" and then hit search. That always gives me a page with no results. It says it has results and offers me a load of filters, but the "top offers" section is blank. It tracks anyway so I'm not very upset! :beer:But I am very confused - there is nothing to click on to buy whatever I'm looking at, surely there should be??
I must be missing something really obvious, can anyone suggest what it is??

Vistaprint is offering a "free" rubber stamp if you register. You do have to pay for the postage at £4.11 (some postage!) but quidco is offering £6.50 cashback for any purchase. Mine has tracked ok, so it seems to work

I always use the 'Search the Web' box instead of 'Search Shopping' as the shopping one started giving rubbish results a long time ago so I gave up using that. When using the search web option it always gives me results of various websites and I click on one of them. I don't think you are missing anything obvious, seems to me that some of these search/comparison sites and just pretty useless.

Still waiting on £100 from o2 that was validated on 30th November 2009. An absolute joke.

Quidco said this at the start of this month:
We are currently experiencing delays with payment of O2 transactions due to their affiliate network being behind with their processing, and we are working hard with them to rectify the situation. Be assured that we will continue to do so until the issue is resolved for all members affected by this delay.
Zzzz. Will I ever get my cashback? Hmm..

Awful service from either o2 or Quidco.. if only I knew where to apportion the blame..

On the menu on the left hand side (on the home page - or the page quidco sends you to) is "free products", that has the rubber stamp & some other freebies too. It might be that some of the others are cheaper - I didn't check as I did actually want the stamp :)

    Hi all,
Firstly if this is the wrong place to post I apologise but where I posted last year seems to have been archived.
My post was re: non payment of Quidco cashback due to what I believe was an Argos sytem failure.
It appears I received a PM from Jules (Quidco rep) and others replied in the forum.
I appear to have not seen these and cannot think why not now.

I have just tried to PM Jules but apparently my PM cannot get through.
In answer to others if they're still interested, I followed all the rules and protocols for Quidco. But the Argos website gave no acknowledgements at all re order receipt etc but had processed the order internally - I had to call them the next day - I hardly wanted 2 sets of goods so couldn't re-order (a 3 piece suite!)

Credit to Argos though - their customer service paid my cashback independently of Quidco (but said they knew nothing about Quidco - really?)

Jules, if you want to follow up I'll happily provide you with any details you need to investigate so that Quidco can prevent this happening again to other customers.
BTW - I have had cashback on all other transactions through Quidco but feel some need to be monitored else they don't track and need follow up.

    Cheers,

    Pete
