    Only 1 veg?!

theres always alot of veg the rest of the time in my house and its not often i do a big meaty full trimmings meal, so i'm not going to cook a load more veg that no one will eat.

it'll only be for hubby and 2 kids anyway as i don't do xmas lunch, i'll have toast instead.

    melon starter

turkey, cranberry jelly, bread sauce, honey roasted parsnips, mashed potato with roasted garlic, brussels with chestnuts, carrots, sausagemeat stuffing, chipolatas & devils on horseback.

no pudding immediately afterwards but perhaps in the evening - but only after I have had a lovely turkey sandwich made with thinly sliced white bread, using butter & sprinkled with salt - a real treat!

Aww why do you cook all that lovely food and then not eat it? (If you don't mind me asking!)

Really surprised that people are picking up on the veg angle. (The amount I mean.)

Is this some sort of Xmas rule or tradition of some kind?

Yes, it'll be Christmas Day, after all - surely the one occasion where people can eat what they like without others batting an eyelid. :D
Who cares whether you have, for example, mince pies for breakfast, pizza for lunch & lollies for pudding - what makes it special to you, is what's important.:)

i have the sausage attachment for the kenwood chef. We pretty much always make our own sausages as my husband is a coeliac and finding decent gluten free sausages is quite difficult.
