As long as you don't drill into the sealed unit it doesn't really matter-but why not go through the wall nearby with a masonry bit?
£95 is absurd, that would buy you the drill and bit. It's a five minute job, why can't you do it yourself? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Be aware.
Almost all window and door frames have a metal frame inside.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
yea i thought that i am hope that someone has done this and can offer some hope if not i will have to pay the 95 quid have a nice xmass0
-
You will need a Metal drill bit, best to use a 3-4mm bit 1st, then step up to 10 mm or what ever the size of the cable is?0
-
thanks very much for that will do have a good xmass0

TV coax is usually 7mm I seem to recall, make sure the cable has a drip loop so water that runs down the cable drips off the cable before it enters the hole.

Drilling the wall makes much more sense. When frames are fitted their is normally a gap around the edge with the frame held in place with spacers. Look around the frame where it meets the wall and check underneath for potential gaps covered with cladding or silicone.0

Perhaps you should think abut getting a different cable guy.
If he is trying to charge you £95 for a five minute job drilling a hole, what else is he over charging you for?
Or is £95 the total cost of the job including supplying cable?0 -
its for the cost of the job and hooking up the tv as well0
