Lasts a couple of years - then the battery fails. Just after the warranty expires.
They come with a 2 year warranty and mine is now well over that age, in fact I think it must be nearly 4 years old and the battery still goes for a good week or more. I love mine and my dentist noticed when I fist started using it.

We've obviously had very different experiences.

Two of these have packed up just after the two year warranty point. Each one because the battery no longer held its charge for more than a few hours at most.

What's really annoying is that they're deliberately designed so that battery replacement is impossible - the whole thing has to be thrown away when all that's needed is a new rechargeable battery. Great for the manufacturer - customer buys a new one. Not so good for the customer, the environment or the planet!

This customer won't be caught a third time. :(
  • I tend to agree with Doc N, as I had a similar problem :(

How long do you brush your teeth for, for that to be a problem??? :D

Seriously though - I've had one or two people who've had similar problems, but who have contacted Oral B and had a satisfactory outcome from their customer services.

Whether that's because they told me about it and I gave them the number of the Oral B rep who comes to see me, and that got a more direct response - I don't know.

But if you have a problem with one, try that route. Tell your dentist, get the number of their regional Oral B rep, and go through them.
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Amazon is 59.99 delivered - Argos showing 79.99 now
  • Argos still showing £59.99 when I reserved one a minute ago, although whether it holds until I collect...!
  • Can anyone confirm if you can charge this without having a 2 pin plug as would like to get but don't have that plug

May sound thick I know but someone has put on review that without having that 2 pin plug would be difficult

    Thankyou
    I love a Bargain

You can get an adapter for ~£1 so it plugs into a normal socket.
  • You can buy an adapter plug (plugs in to any 3-pin socket) for about £1 - and yes, you need one because electric toothbrushes, like shavers, are all wired for 2-pin sockets on safely grounds.

Does anyone know how this compares to the 'TriZone-5000' ?
