I think good old gas engineer.
Boiler packs up on Friday and he manages to get to customer, quick investigation, convinces customer he needs a new boiler, and get customer to sign on the dotted line before he has a chance to get any competitive quotes (or presumably even a second opinion as to whther or not existing boiler can be repaired) ... even if it is with a promise (that probably won't be fullfilled) that a new boiler will be supplied & fitted before Christmas.
What was that? Fitter came this morning, supplied & fitted the brand new boiler for £500 and it's now all working perfectly? Will wonders never cease?
