Just bought the iphone 5 for my wife. £29 for handset, 24 months ul calls/texts and 1gb data @ 36/month.

Next day I get an email from o2 advising that they will increase the rental by 3.2% (£1.15) a month. What's going on? How can that happen? No word of it from Tesco sales assistant when we bought it! 02 justify it on the basis of inflation and that all the other networks have done it too! Is that true? I'm now saddled with a 24month deal that I have agreed to which includes provisions for them to increase the tarrif if they give me 30 days notice!

Humph!

But shouldn't they have known? It was a toss up between Tesco and CPW as to where we did the deal and certainly earlier today when we checked, neither had reflected the price increase either on their website, or, when calling to ask them the details of the tarrifs. Their point of sale info doesn't reflect the price oincrease either. I have checked the contract I signed and was provided to me via Tesco. They don't refer to an increase in tarrif but the now infamous 5.2 clause does appear of course. I don't know. I just feel that I've been scammed by two very large companies and it leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

    See this link....

    www.carphonewarehouse.com/buy/APPLE_IPHONE5_16GB_ZB4FY-FCONO.

Shouldn't that monthly cost in the far right hand column read £37.15??

So, no matter what the O2 contract says, isn't this and in store POS information just great glaring examples of a misrepresentation of the facts?

You and virtually every other 02 customer. This thas received very widespread publicity recently-I think you will just have to swallow it.
