Discovered today that my vouchers had been stolen - about £60 ish.

Spent in the following stores on the same day

    Aldershot
    Sandhurst extra
    Elmers end
    Haslemere
    Fleet express

Surprised that spending vouchers across 5 different stores in the same day doesn't flag up as unusual activity.

Will be refunded with next months statement, no hesitation there at all.

Just found about £80 gone from my account all spent yesterday when I was out of the country but apparently I was at Lisson Grove and Edgeware Road Metro in London. The name and all the details on my account are still mine so I don't know how this has happened. Am fuming as I can't even call Tesco until Monday :(

EDIT: The rest of our vouchers were spent on the Monday in 3 London stores - PADDINGTON METRO, LISSON GROVE and EDGEWARE ROAD. The first lot have gone back on my account by way of points and we have just notified them about the rest.
Tesco seems quick to deal with it but I have asked them now how has someone got my password?!!

No idea what actually was bought and no details on our account were changed.
  • Like a lot of other people I found that my Tesco account had been hacked and vouchers stolen. Vouchers were spent on mobile phone accessories 100s of mile from were I live.

Tesco have re-credited my account but the big question is how did the hackers know my password. It was 10 digits, unique to Tesco and was a combination of numbers and letters.

Tesco don't seem concerned which is worrying....

They don't need to know your password; it's a combination of an inside job and lack of security.

It's not about where they're being sold, it's how they're getting the vouchers from peoples accounts, duh.

  • I sent an email to Philip Clarke CEO of Tescos as I wasn't satisfied with just being given a gift card even though it was for double the value of my clubcard vouchers which were stolen. I wanted to renew my Senior Railcard but couldn't use the gift card and my next lot of vouchers weren't due until after my renewal date. After being contacted by one of the executives I was eventually given a voucher to purchase my railcard and was given the option to keep the gift card. They also asked for the phone number I rang from as they were going to listen to the calls I made. Hopefully others will now be offered more help as all I could get from anyone I spoke to was they couldn't reinstate the vouchers as their systems did not allow it and that they would roll my points over to the next time vouchers would be issued in February which I said was unacceptable. I think they thought because I was a senior citizen that I didn't understand computers and could be told anything. Luckily I have worked in computers and so have both my children so I knew that given the right authority a computer system can do anything if asked to which was proved when they sent me the voucher.

Both myself and my housemates have had points missing from our accounts, we've tried ringing tesco but they seem pretty useless..what's the best way to get hold of someone who knows whats going on?
  • I have just logged on to my Clubcard account to find that it has been emptied of over £200 worth of vouchers by someone spending in a store more than a 100 miles away from where I live. I have emailed Tesco and hope to get immediate positive assistance, with immediate reinstatement of my vouchers, tomorrow morning - otherwise I will take the very useful advice of the many other contributors to this thread.

What I find shocking though is that this is still going on over a year after the first posting and more of a fuss hasn't been made about it. An article in the Daily Telegraph last February tried to imply that it was a one off incident involving a few people but it is clearly still going on - mine were all spent just before Christmas.

It seems that Tesco are 'sweeping this under the carpet'.

Maybe some people from this thread should approach a newspaper/TV journalist to get more publicity then?

They didn't 'reinstate' your vouchers - they used the 'points' that they added back to arrange the Senior Railcard you said you wanted, the balance will come out to you in new vouchers in the (early) February mailing.
