Hi
I wanted to know does the wireless thermostat replace the mechanical timer on the boiler I.e. removing it Or can you still keep the mechanical timer on the boiler as well to use

A thermostat does not control the timing, as the timer overides the 'stat.
So unless you are talking about a wireless programmer, which includes timer functions, then you still need a timer.
If it's the latter, then you leave the timer in place, but set to constant, and the programmer takes over the timer duties. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Yes the VRT306f replaces the timer on the boiler, but does not fit into the boiler.
You would need to remove the mechanical timer from the boiler.
I assume you are referring to the Ecotec Plus 837, as the Ecotec Plus range is the only range that the 360f will work with.0
