    Hello Everyone

Just back from seeing OH - his chest infection is now under control and he seems quite bright today.

Still very concerned about my mum and dad. Met with them and their solicitor to go over their affairs and set up powers of attorney.

It's not a moment too soon as far as my poor mum is concerned.

I was shocked yesterday by how fast her mental faculties are declining. Even her face is changing, sometimes when you look into her eyes there is nothing there, she has gone. It must be awful for my dad.

I need to discuss things with my sister but she is utterly distraught and can hardly speak. It looks as if her dog is going to have to be put to sleep. He had cancer in his leg last year, it's now come back into his lungs. We'll know for sure later today.

I'll just have to put decisions about mum and dad's care on the back burner for the time being till my sister can cope.

Dad just goes to pieces at the thought of mum going into a nursing home so I'm wondering if the best solution is to find somewhere so that she can have nursing care and he can have residential care. At least they can stay together that way.

Oh well - I'll think about it all another day.

Time for a cuppa and a short rest. Popping out with DS2 to a business seminar this evening, trying to give him a confidence boost and help him to do a bit of networking.

    Tomorrow I'm having a day off.........:rotfl:

It's very quiet on here. Hope you are all ok.

Hewie - take care of yourself and try and take comfort from your family. Your mum will always be with you.

Hewie, just wanted to say so sorry to hear of the passing of your mum. Having lost my mum 27 years ago at a very young age to cancer, it doesn't get any easier the loss of her not being here.

What I will say to you is to cry as much as you need to, don't bottle things up and put on that stiff upper lip. The next few days, weeks and months will be hard but you know what, it's at times like this that that those old cliches come into being - yeah, time moves on, things do get easier, but what will get you through it all, are the memories of your mum, her smile, her laugh, the fun times you had together just you and her, and as a family. It's those memories that will keep you going through your darkest moments. Hold them dear to your heart, share them and remember her fondly with loved ones.

My thoughts are with you, your dad and family. From me and mine, to you and yours xxx
I got there - I'm debt free and intend to stay that way. If I haven't got the cash, it doesn't get bought. It's as simple as that.
