How much decorative gravel do I need?

Nowt wrong with gravel in the right place - but - on a patio - mmm - can be very impractical. You may find you walk it into the house, kids running about may slip and graze themselves and if you are wanting to stand table and chairs there, they will sink and become uneven when used. Depends on useage I suppose. Maybe you can break up the unsightly look of the area with a few containers so it is less noticeable until you can perhaps afford something more user friendly. Other than that, your local supplier will be an expert on quantities needed. Accurate measurements needed !!! Go to a builders merchant type place for bulk, not lots of bags from a garden centre.
