What sort of guitar? If its been hanging around in the attic or garage it might now be damaged due to humidity problems. Just because it has a 'high value' label doesn't mean you are going to get the price you hope or that it is really worth that especially if it needs work doing on it. If it's not been played in a long time it's not going to be sounding good and will need playing in again. The above assumes its an acoustic of some sort, I know nothing about electric guitars.

It was valued in September, until about 6 years ago it was played regularly, it's been stored in its case and has no damage from storage. It's a semi-acoustic made in the early 60's. The valuer said if it went to auction the least he would expect it to reach was £12k, his valuation was actually higher.

Ah OK, it's just some people google their guitar 'from the attic' and get a value but fail to take into account the model number/ the crack in the soundboard/ dodgy tuners etc and think it's worth a lot more than it is.

Even though played until 6 years ago you might want to think about playing it in if you do think about selling it. When I bought my current guitar it hadn't been played for about 2 months and when a professional played it he could tell straight away it hadn't been played recently.

It still sounds amazing - my Dad was a musician (played session guitar in the 60's) and was always jealous of this one, it is a beauty, but I no longer play really and none of my kids are remotely musical. It's a shame really it deserves to be played the tone is beautiful.

Its a troll, if you look at their previous postings the spelling changes from very poor to very good. I'd guess the purpose of the poor spelling is to give the impression that all people in receipt of benefits are incapable of spelling.

  • If it is worrying you, or you sell a lot of second hand stuff one time, why don't you ask a friend of relative if you can transfer the money to their bank account.
