Very urgent help needed right now please!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Husband allways telling me not to have drink near computer - now I've gone and spilled half a cup of coffee all over the keyboard.
I have unplugged it (and plugged in the kids one) and put it upside down on wads of kitchen roll.
Will it dry out OK or do I need to take it apart and clean it somehow? What shall I do next to save it's life and avoid having to tell my husband?
Please help.

Calm down dear it's only a keyboard !
Hopefully it will dry out - if not either blame the kids or buy a new one !0 -
PC world, new keyboard ~£5, problem solved.0

This has been asked before on here and the usual question is "was there sugar in the coffee" - if there was then the keyboard is probaby ruined. If there wasn't then you need to let it dry naturally in a warm place (i.e. airing cupboard) and it may work again. I would not recommend taking it apart...That's Numberwang!0

Just leave it a couple of days somewhere nice and warm so it will all dry out.
Should work fine.
If not, don't worry, these things happen. And new ones are real cheap.0 -
I'm not so much worried about the cost as giving my husband the satisfaction of saying "I told you so"!
Fortunately I don't take sugar, but there was a little milk in it. What has sugar got to do with it by the way?0 -
Normally liquid isn't what kills a keyboard...it's the sugar in the liquid which gets sticky and clogs up the keys.
Hope you don't take sugar?
Leave it upside down but bear in mind that keys are hollow so when you turn it back over the liquid may have pooled in the keys and dribble back down into the keyboard so leave it for a good couple of days so it can dry fully.
I have tipped tea over my work keyboard at least twice and had no problems drying it out.
Failing all that: it IS only a keyboard and not the end of the world. Ask on freecycle for another one if you can't afford one. DH needs a chill pill if this upsets him as much as you seem to be suggesting! :rotfl:Good Enough Club member number 27(2) AND I got me a stalkee!

Give him the satisfaction...and then tell hm to chill! Accidents happen. If thats an "I told you so" moment on your house....good grief! You are a grown adult.Good Enough Club member number 27(2) AND I got me a stalkee!

You've said you've unplugged it, so I presume its not wireless. Every wired keyboard I've had has been very easy to take apart and put back together... I do it quite regularly to keep it nice and clean. usually there's just a few simple screws on the back. and then all the sections of the keyboard. Don't be afraid of taking it apart to help it dry out and clean it~Diminutive0
