I love it when something that I've been listing for ages suddenly goes. A few months ago I had somebody win an auction for a book, which I'd been listing on and off for three years!

Glad it's working out for you - seems to be working quite well for me too!

4 repeatedly unsold items of mine have all got bids. Strangely, even though I'd expect them to appeal to UK buyers, the bidders are all from overseas, mainly from smaller western European countries.

Does anyone know if 31st Dec 2012 is the last day you can list on Ebay with zero insertion fees or will 1st Jan 2013 be the last day??

Ah Soolin, thanks for confirming that it IS including 1st Jan! I didn't get the timing info in the announcement I received on MyEbay message. Let's hope I'm not going to be too hungover to do some listings!!

Always check through the link (if you are securely logged in) or announcements and read the small print. Never assume anything with ebay, we have seen a few variations of free listing this year so far and it never hurts to actually read what they say before you spend time listing.

Don't know if I'm doing something wrong but just tried listing a couple of last-minute items and find I am being charged 15p. I don't have any additional enhancements on and I am well under the 100 item limit. I am also over the 99p auction start limit. I listed an item about 30 minutes ago and didn't have this problem. Any suggestions please?

I've listed several, very different items in very different categories tonight and was not charged any listing fee for any of them. If you definitely aren't selecting any enhancements, I'm afraid your account must be ineligible for some reason.
