A good deed a day

I decided to challenge myself to do one good deed per day. It was going to be a New Years resolution, but then I decided there was no point in waiting until then!
Booked in to go and give blood today, but then due to a muddle up with appointments they couldn't fit me in
I now have to find another good deed to do today, which will be difficult as I will not be leaving the house!
Does anyone have any ideas of little things I can do?
I am hoping most of it will become spontaneous, but for those days where I haven't managed to do a random act of kindness some ideas would be welcome
I am trying to limit the amount of money needed for my good deeds, as I have debts and would like to pay back the people I owe money to.
Merry Christmas and a Good Deed a Day New Year!

You can send cards of support to the families of individuals who are being campaigned for by Amnesty International. Just costs you a stamp. You can also get involved in sending appeal letters to their governments.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

Thanks Seven, I know exactly who to ring this evening0

The freerice website?
There are several where you can 'donate' rice by giving your time.0 -
Could you give something away on Freecycle then you can do a good deed and declutter at the same time!0

Thanks Katy, you have already done a good deed I think by posting this as it has made me want to do it to. If lots of people do it, we can make a difference.0

I bumbled off and played on freerice for 20 minutes.0

What a lovely and uplifting thread. I did something that made me feel really good today. I have signed up to donate a small amount of money to a really good charity. I hope my contribution may make a difference to an organisation who I think does so much good.
I have been able to help out some neighbours of mine this week when they were struggling. This thread has inspired me to be more observant and look for opportunities to do something positive each day which may help others out. Even if that is something as simple as smiling and asking how someone is whilst making it obvious I have time to listen to their answer and take an interest. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0 -
This thread is about 'paying it forward', isn't it (rather than paying back a good deed, you get in first -pay it forward).
A very fulfilling thing to do for both the recipient of your good deed and for yourself.(AKA HRH_MUngo)
