Parking ticket valid?
Options
Hello guys
I hope this is the right place for posting.
I received a parking ticket on a sunday on a yellow line. I thought it was free on sunday but apparently not. I'm fuming because I was away from the car for about 5 mins. I've just noticed that my vehicle registration is incorrect on the penalty charge notice.
Do I have to pay it?
Many thanks in advance

No. Legally, that ticket was given to a different vehicle. you'll need to tell them you don't own the vehicle with the reg on the ticket, though - dont ignore it.0

This is what I would do. Simply write back enclosing the ticket saying that it was attached to your car. Send it recorded. In the letter do not make any mention of your car reg/make/colour/model etc. If the warden was smart then they would have taken a photo of your car in situ and they will write back with an amended ticket which you must pay, but if they have not taken a photo....Voila!'Just because its on the internet don't believe it 100%'. Surely, they can't give you an amended ticket after the event?0 -
Do not send the ticket back - you will then have no proof that it was wrong. Get a photocopy and send that.0

Just out of interest, what would happen if the OP did nothing? How could they follow it up if they don;t have the correct registration number? Can I help?0

Thanks for your thoughts all. To add to my woe, the first letter I opened this morning was a bus lane ticket!!!!!n
I hardly use my car but where I live motorists are definitely being driven off the streets.

If your reg. no. was wrong on the ticket how did they find our where to send the ticket?0

...Ummmm, you did park on a yellow line long enough for someone to write you out a ticket and for you not to see. Much as this may frustrate and annoy you, it does seem a fair penalty, and therefore, regardless of whether the ticket was incorrectly completed, you may feel that morally you should pay it, and wrack it up as experience, rather than trying to wriggle out of it (I guess the yellow line is there for a reason?)0
