Hi,
I'm trying to replace the washer of a dripping tap.
The tap is a beaumont brassware bathroom rising spindle tap.
I cant work out how to remove the cap so I can take the top of the tap off (the bit you turn to get water) to gain access to the washer.
Any one know how to do it?
Money saving in that saves me from a plumber
Thanks!

You need to unscrew the bottom nut to seperate the top section from the body---the top comes away as a complete assembly.
Problem is generally ensuring that the leverage required does not twist the tap and loosen the tap connector on the water pipe beneath the basin/bath.
I generally use a large spanner on the nut for sufficient leverage and a soft jawed set of stillsons on the tap spout to stop the tap turning. Can be very tight.0 -
will give it a go!
