Sure they do, that still doesn't mean people are not addicted to shopping though.0 -

Have I touched a raw nerve, which is why you are calling me a moron...
Oh yes of course, lets moan about shops being open on a sunday too!
Im calling you a moron, because you are. Obviously you have a passion for shopping, or is it that you cant afford to shop because your a jeremy kyle sponger sat at home all day on the dole?
Hmmm i wonder!0 -

I'd love to sit around all day watching Jezza, but I work.
And quite how you got the impression that I love to shop on Boxing Day, or have a passion for shopping from my posts is way beyond me.0 -

The one near us isn't closed on Boxing Day. I just looked it up because I was so impressed that I was going to send them an email to tell them so.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Come on guys, its Christmas - lets all be friends.:wave:0

Slightly off-topic, but I always remember working Christmas Eve in Woolworths - we shut at 4pm, but had to stay until 8pm taking down all the Christmas stuff and putting out all the dull Boxing Day sale homewares. It always seemed a really depressing way to effectively 'start' Christmas. And I think that has always put me off Boxing Day shopping!0

I shop on Boxing Day because I'd rather not get killed for the last packet of paxo on Christmas eve, or be beaten by old ladies with their shopping trollies, mobbed by the parents who take their six children screaming, or harrassed by chavs.
If you don't like shopping on boxing day, then don't go. It is as simple as that.0 -
When I used to work in retail whilst at university the shops I worked in only shut on Christmas day, only day of the year - I worked Christmas Eve and Boxing day one year but it wasn't too bad - you're pleased to come home and you can have treats on the shop floor - one Christmas eve working at The B*dy Shop we had hot chocolates behind the counter

Now I work as a Children's Nurse so obviously there is never one day hospitals are not open - if children are in hospital ill, you can't moan! Can't say I have been to a supermarket on boxing day but part of me likes the option to

I see the only day supermarkets are shut is Xmas day. They are open on Boxing Day. When do the staff get a rest. Can they not just close for 2 days out of the year??
Don't feel to bad for us, most companies at the beginning of December put a list up and anyone who doesn't want to work certain days can request to change them with others also most people don't work 8 til 8 Monday to Sunday, the shop i work in most of us only work 20 - 30 hours a week.
I know for example that most of us are working only 3 / 4 days rather than 4 /5 days. I'm working 5 hours boxing day but have the next day off so am actually only working 3 days over xmas so it's not as bad as it seems
we are open 8am til 8am on boxing day then normal times on the 27 / 28/ 29/ 30 then close early on new years eve and open at 8 rather than 7 on news years day

Nah lets pretend we are all family, then we can keep up the tradition of arguing at this time of year.:D0
