You can still get stuff before xmas with amazon if you qualify for free Prime trial, you must make sure you cancel before the trial is up so you are not charged.

I've been using the trial for the last two weeks and it's been excellent0

Note that the default is to pay for the service once the trial ends.
But you can change your settings, straight after signing up, so that the service ends once the trial ends. My thinking is that it is easier to remember to do this at that point than when the trial is due to end.0 -
If you're planning on leaving your Christmas until Sunday and relying on Amazon Prime to get your parcels to you on Monday (Christmas Eve) - be aware that I've been using the trial and two of my orders (four parcels) haven't actually arrived the next day, but the day after instead (assuming the Tuesday's lot do actually arrive today)... which could mean you get your stuff after Christmas Day!!
P.S. Both orders made before mid afternoon and had delivery estimated as the next day, even when they were obviously not there the next day!You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0 -
How awful - I've been paying £49 a year for this since 2009 without realising because I'm so disorganised and don't check my statements!£216 saved 24 October 20140

If you have not used the next day service in the last three years you could claim the money back.0 -

I got caught out this year because I didn't cancel. I forgot all about it. I called Amazon to see if I could get my money back and explained politely it was an honest mistake not having cancelled.
They told me because I had never used it, aside from the first time I used it when I signed up on the trial, they would give me all my money back as a good will gesture. I only got stung for one years worth, but it' surely worth asking them nicely and giving it a try. That's not a small amount of money. So so SO tired of being ripped off, and mislead
Hope sharing saves some pain.0 -

I've also had the same experience. Even with Prime Amazon still send some orders through Royal Mail and I've found it's mostly these orders that don't arrive on time.
Obviously still much quicker than the free standard delivery but I wouldn't leave ordering til Sunday.0 -
It's better to sign up to Amazon Family as it is free for three months, rather than the standard one month Prime trial.

You don't have to have a child of your own to qualify as you can just say you are a family member0 -
