Thanks for that Frugalnottight it is virtually imposible to get the updates from the thread and I am spending too much time on it really.
Please just PM me and please please add your quest number it will make it so much quicker. The names on here are very similar and it is a bit of a detective work to identify them from post 1.
Anyway enough moaning thanks for all the updates keep them coming and lets have a nice full list from the 5th August.

Nobody minds if you report on here and PM TG, the main thing is to make TG's life as easy as possible so if you have to choose one or the other then a PM to TG would be the priority.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0

AnW's Mum - I wish we had paid off my mortgage !
I've cashed in my premium bonds and am now down to £7,837 approx because of this and my normal monthly overpayments. I'll pm Tall Girl at the beginning of August after the July payment. It's a bit like wishing one's life away but I love seeing the balance go down.
Sparkly
I know exactly what you meanif our mortgage had not been paid off last year I would be doing exactly the same as the rest of you. As it is I am trying to save money for DD and DS so that they can have a decent deposit for houses in the future (assuming they want to buy!)

My update doesn't come through until towards the end of the first week of the month (does that make sense?). So i've not dropped out i'm still waiting for my update from the mortgage people. Thanks for all the work you're putting into this challenge xxJanuary budget

Just for a bit of fun I have also looked at how many of these mortgages we would have paid off now if we started with the smallest mortgage and worked towards the biggest! Those who would be MF now in this scenario would be: sparklymessygirl, Mushy61, pariskate, MancBrel, Angeldelight, ailuro2, inkie, GreenNinja and cazmanian_minx (we are only a tad under £7k short of 'repaying' jobbingmusician as well
)
DD I do realise that 'repaying' mortgages in this order would mean that at the moment your mortgage would be last but one to be repaid
Hi AnW'sMum, thanks for all the stats, they always make interesting reading and liven up the thread! You are wrong on one point though. If we did work backwards, mine wouldn't be the last mortgage to get paid - either at the start of the quest in April or currently.
At the start of the quest, Batgirl and Pinkfairy both had larger mortgages than me. Now that we are 3 months in, the standings are as follows:
01) Batgirl (£200,000)
02) Pinkfairy (£158,663)
03) Pinky (£136,782)
04) AngelaDavis (£129,551)
05) Drengo (£125,920)
06) jimobc (£126,100)
07) Keren29 (£126,000)
08) Trying to be good (£123,993)
09) Dithering Dad (£119,635)
10) sarmia (£118,223)
So I'm now 9th largest in the rollcall of mortgage-ateers. Not that it's a competition or anything of course, this list was produced just for fun. But watch out sarmia - I'm on your tail!!!

Hi all!
Here's my update - we managed to pay off £1,166 in the last month and kept our spending on target so we have made up the bit we were behind for the previous 2 months and are now £52 ahead!!!! (Not much I know but every penny counts and that's 5200 pennies!)
Don't think next month will be so good though as we've had some problems with our tenants who have only just moved in and then lost their jobs  We've given them a couple of weeks to get it sorted so hopefully they can get something together by the end of the month to cover the BTL mortgage otherwise it will come out of our offset so payments off our mortgage will be less.
Oh and it's OH's birthday on Saturday and I have spent rather a lot on his pressies. But he is really fed up at the minute and needs lots of cheering up! (He was sent abroad last night with only a couple of hours notice and wasn't very happy about it)
Right that's my excuses out of the way up front . . . sorry in advance if I let the side down - promise to get back on track asap!!!

Have just PM'ed TallGirl with my latest. I still have not made overpayments but have 1500 in savings to offset. I am hoping that soon I will be able to cash in an old endowment worth about 26,500. A chunk of that will have to go to the taxman!!!!!!! then some to pay off an overdraft, and about 9000(10%) to the mortgage, woohoo. any left over will go into savings for next years 10% overpayment.
Well done to everyone else, you are all doing so well0
