I've given TallGirl my figures and to say we only joined nearly 6 months into the challenge-when the chart is done we will have beaten our pledge-with still 6 months to run. I have now signed up for the MFIT-T2 with a higher pledge-something to really get my teeth into!!!
Despite joining the new challenge we still intend to stick around with this challenge 'til it finishes!!!

  • Just PM'd Tallgirl with my figures, but would also like to share on here -

I am now completely mortgage free

Had an outstanding balance of 95K when I joined and wanted to get this down to 25K. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine paying the lot off and earlier than planned. Couldn't have done it without being inspired by this challenge and also being motivated to keep on track - feels like we are a little family all with the same goals and dreams.

Now to start saving for the "extension" fund ;)

Look forward to everyones updates and seeing the chart.

    Cheers

What Tattycath said - :j:j:j Congratulations :j:j:j I'm sorry I don't know how to do sparkly emoticons with fireworks and things.:p

That's a humungous amount of money to have paid off in 2 and a half years!

It's amazing what everyone is managing to do with a little help from lower interest rates and a big pile of motivation from this challenge!!:D

Well done Tattycath too - you may have got off to a late start, but you're making up for it on the finishing straight Well done!:D

TheBees are reporting in for the October update -

We currently have a virtual figure of £1925 at the present moment which will be sent off as a capital repayment at the beginning of December along with the money in our loose change jars (which we hope will bring the total to £2500.

Should find out next week if I've got a 3 month contract at a local supermarket to earn some extra cash over Christmas. Fingers Crossed!

    Good luck everyone

A big WELL DONE to jonesy bonesy for paying off his mortgage so early. Thats fantastic. You must be feeling so happy right now.

I'm just about to update TallGirl but I thought I'd post on here first.

Start: £65,000 Balance at 30th Sept: £39,647 Paid Off: £25,353

I am really thrilled with that, especially considering that my target was only £11,000! (Ok, with hindsight that was a bit of a soft target....)

I am really pleased to have reached another threshold too. I'm below £40k outstanding, which is quite a milestone. I have slowed down a bit as I'm building up my savings to the level they were before we spent on the wedding, but that should be back to the previous level by the end of October. I really need to get rid of a load of clutter on ebay, and this is a great time of year to be doing that, so I'll have to get down to it.

Keep it up, we are all doing really well.
