It's really hard to know what to do for the best at present for those remortgaging or coming to the end of fixed rates.
TBH as far as I can tell, the only people who are benefitting from the low rates are those who had a product before the rates started to drop. Most new fixes are at around 5% which is the same as it was 4 years ago when we started looking for our new mortgage.
TBH, if I manage to keep the interest rate at 5.29% when I come to shift I think I'll be happy. I should have 30 payments aprox left after our rate expires but am very aware that this will change with the new interest rate. Hmm.

i've not been around for a couple of weeks, but have just had a quick catch up.

december has been a bit pants all round and my normal budgeting and overpaying etc has gone out of the window. have just pm'd tallgirl and done my own sums, and for once i haven't quite kept up with my target - although i think i'm just £101 out!

am looking forward to the end of feb when we move onto our FD tracker, which i think should be currently 2.29% - we are currently fixed on 5.39% so it will provide us with an automatic £300 a month overpayment for starters:j.

well done and good luck to everyone who is continuing to pay off their mortgages.

    hugs to SFG too x

Would anyone be so kind as to post a link for me?

    Thank you.

  • Hey there FNT - don't know if this'll work but here goes: http://brochure.s446.sureserver.com/i2.php?p=det&product_id=54

I tried it and it seemed to work for me ;)

If not, got to the Mortgages & Houses tab above and the Remortgage Guide should be top right of article.
:( Struggling too much wears a body out

Here we go the long awaited chart and thanks for all the updates. I would say this group is still going strong and I am 100% behind it. Only 15 months to go.
We have 73 members, 4 which have paid off their mortgage 100% and 18 which have exceeded their own targets. Well done everyone.
