 Congrats Caz, been a long time coming :beer:A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Congrats Caz - must be a relief!
Mudbath - thanks for the update on the one account - they haven't let me know yet either and the website still shows old rates (but is always slow to update) so good to know! Think my monthly interest will now be approx £39 so that's all good!
With regards the chickens I was told I didn't need to inform anyone if I owned the property. We have a small terrace garden with neighbours who have access through it to their properties (we use back doors). Apparently unless they become a problem (noise, smells, rodents etc) the neighbours don't have a cause to complain. Generally as long as you look after them and clean them regularly (and only have hens) there shouldn't be a problem so I'm told . . .
Sometimes house deeds can prevent you keeping them . . not sure why they do but there you are!
Obviously if you rent it's a different story (which I assume none of us do otherwise we are on the wrong thread!!!). Apparently they are classed as livestock and not pets so even council tenants are not allowed to keep them (but are pets) but probably depends on the council.:j MFiT Club Member 14 :jMortgage Outstanding 01 April 2007 - £51,051

hi all!
well done to all on overpayments and good news.
fingers crossed for me please that my new mortgage application goes through ok - in theory there's no reason why not apart from the amount of stoozed cash i have borrowed. i have included a covering letter plus the balance of my savings accounts/isas so that they can see that debt = savings:rolleyes:.
can't wait as it's only 5.29% now with absolutely no fees and it's offset too, so the potential for more stoozing (and reducing balance much quicker) will be enormous. it's discounted, but i am prepared to weather this for now (as no fees) and hope that if rates go down i might fix somewhere;).0 -
firesidemaid - good luck wih the application.
Update from us - Mr Ailuro has finally agreed we could make more money from our overpayment fund by putting it in higher interest accounts.
So we have taken our mortgage overpayment funds out, and are putting them into fixed rate savings and ISAs. By doing this we will make an extra £200 next year if the interest rate stays the same, and stand to gain even more if the intrerest rate drops, which of course it is widely anticipated that it will drop again soon.
So - I'm still going to be mfi3, just a slightly different path - I'll take the money in our savings accounts off of the outstanding mortgage balance for the next updates, as the money is still earmakred for paying off the mortgage, hopefully before I'm 40!
whether we end up really mortgage free, or just notionally mortgage free and decide to keep making extra money from the savings accounts we will have to wait and see.;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
