AXA Sunlife have AGREED my mis-selling claim, and instead of just over £2,000 surrender value, they're going to give me nearly £3,500!

    Well done:j:j:j

    re. parents....

i too have the same worries. i started my MS habits from them - my love of jumble sales and charity shops etc

i think they have spent so long scrimping and getting by that now they have retired as such they feel 'bu&&er it', we're going to enjoy what we have now and when it's gone it's gone.

i can understand it a little as we never know what is around the corner, but there is so much money to be saved without cutting back, especially with so much time on their hands! ah well......

Have Pm'd Tallgirl but here is my anniversary update.

The mortgage now stands at £174,473 which is quite a bit less than last year, so I am really pleased. According to the notes on my bank's online page, this has reduced the mortgage by 11 years.

    Keep going everyone!

Wow catshark that is amazing, well done :D and even more impressive seeing as your target was to reduce by £50k over 3 years. Just under £100k in 1 year woooohoooooo brilliant :T:T:T

I agree- why give money away, when you can have ANOTHER holiday/cruise? Hopefully I'll be taking that attitude when we've retired- all that time off is wasted on the old!!:p

Well done to everyone so lovely to read the updates. We have achieved so much in this first year mainly that we had paid a load of our mortgages but we have also had people getting new job, getting married, expanding their families, getting unexpected money back etc etc. Congratulation and well done to all of them.

But some people on here are also having bad times and might not have been able to pay as much off as they would have liked. Remember this is not a race and we have got another two years to go so please stick with this even if you have not done as well as you wanted to.

Looking good on the update front, keep them coming....
