DD- if it gets to you that much, then have a standard answer for the people who ask your reasons for being a MFW, and state in it you won't enter into any other answers because of trolls who refuse to let you have an honest debate.

    Morning all
No I am not downbeat about the challenge just a shame when people like DD are given a hard time. I have now put the current chart back in post 2 so newbies can find it and I have put that we expect people joining us to update us every 3 months for the chart. I will now keep a record of the people who PM me but would it be OK if I delete people we have not heard from in say 6 months?

Hope that is OK with you all otherwise I fear we end up with lots of people who sign up but never to be heard from again.

  • Hey DD - even I'm saying don't change the name, and I hardly know you.

What I have noticed, and I hope you don't mind me saying this, is that you're very quick to judge people as anti-MFW when all they are doing is suggesting alternative strategies and ideas. Everybody has different circumstances.

You're very quick to argue and even twist people's words. I gather you may have had a number of deliberate trolls, which may have driven you to reacting like this. Please chill though - this is MSE :)

I am a MFW, believe it or not, and I'll be a MFiT when I move to my next house (if I don't buy it outright that is).

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Hi,

I am just back from honeymoon and wanted to add my continued support to DD and TG and all the other MFiT challengees. I came on the forum to revitalise my efforts as I want to pay off my mortgage!

TG - I agree wholeheartedly that if no one has updated their stats for 6 months since originally signing up, they need to be removed from the challenge.

DD - Please please don't let these nasty time-wasters get their own way. Why can't they go pollute someone elses forum? The cowards who send PM's are even worse. I get very annoyed with these individuals.

    MY MESSAGE TO MFiT TROLLS:

Yes we are all committed to paying off our mortgages, SO GET OVER IT!

We are all adults and have made a decision that suits OUR lifestyles and priorities, it isn't meant as a criticism against others who invest in other avenues (in fact many of us have other investments too).

It is OUR choice (the emphasis here is on choice).

IF YOU DON'T AGREE WITH THE IDEA - then let's agree to disagree and PLEASE MOVE ONTO ANOTHER FORUM as is everyones human right.

Everyone enjoys debate, but BULLYING POSTERS ARE SIMPLY NOT WELCOME HERE !!!

The MFiT Forum is here to help support everyone in their efforts.

OK, that's my two-penneth (for what its worth). :D
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
  • Dear DD,

Don't give up on us baby......

I recognise a lot of what you're saying about being disheartened but I too have noticed that you seem a bit quick to allow these trolls to upset you. I'm going through someting similar out here in the real world of work and the politics that go along with it. So often we've been told what a grand job we doing with the foster kids that come and stay with us, but the current thing is that we're upsetting the "professionals" such as the kids family support worker and social worker. The agency we work for has told us that they won't re-approve us unless I learn to massage egos. What happened to it all being about the kids? We found out a few days ago that there is an "undercover operation" to find evidence that we're emotionally abusing the children and that their recent acting out is because of me, and nothing to do with the kids are fed up not being told what's happening and they want to go home to M&D! The kids have told anyone who'll listen that they want to stay with us until they can go home, but the FSW still wants them moved.

Now the reason I've outlined this for you DD, is "ni !!!!!!!i carbarundum". Easy for me to say I hear you cry, but the knives really are out for me here and I'm damn sure I'm not going to let them get me. I am an overcomer and I shall triumph - albeit eventually rather than maybe right now - and you and I have to hang onto that. When these trolls have a go, you'll likely get it within a few word, don't read it all but reply with :p or  ! The kiss usually gets the better response for me but find your own HAPPY expression to return to the. THEN FORGET THEM! Do they pay your bills? No! Are you doing something you believe to be worthwhile for you and others like you? Yes!

So, head down and get on with it and that's Superfast Gran's lecture for today!:kiss::kiss:
:( Struggling too much wears a body out

Hey DD - just want to add another small voice of support.

Please don't go - when I joined MSE I was 6 months into paying off an absolutely mountainous personal debt pile......now, thanks to the inspiration of people like you and TallGirl, I'm actually trying to pay off my mortgage, a position that I never dreamed I'd find myself in just 3 short years ago.

Ignore them and rise above it DD, you're needed here and your opinions are valued!

Whilst I appreciate the position of all the people participating in this challenge it isn't fair for people not in "the club" to be subjected to abuse. They are not TROLLS, they are other MSE users and they deserve to be treated with the same respect as afforded under MSE's terms and conditions.

Tallgirl- I'd make anyone who didn't update this time around 'grey' and wipe them from the next update if they haven't been in touch before then.

3 months is plenty time to get their name taken off the grey list, of course that's just my opinion.:D
