Sorry this has been weighing on you still, DD, I didn't realise. I'm not quite sure how you're going to manage the new username tho - our details are kind of identifiable, aren't they? Or will you post as both? I'm worried for you, I have to say. Are you still working from home? I hope you have some support right now.

  • DD - if you change your name how will we know its you?
if you like your username you should keep it! most of posters on here associate DD with good posts maybe use your new name on posts external to MFI3 threads instead!
I have to admit the Dithering puzzles me as you come across as anything but Dithering.
Dont let the other thread get you down - you've said what you believe just leave it at that and focus on the positive stuff in this and other threads - what you focus on grows! so lets focus on mortgage freeing/lessening!

You have been great starting this challenge. Ignore the trolls and carry on, I'm sure the mods will realise what the score is so don't worry about them closing this thread.

You've been an inspiration to me (as is everyone on this thread) and have been the catalyst in spurring me on to pay, pay, pay more off my mortgage. I don't think I would have paid as much off as I have if I hadn't joined this challenge :)

Let it go in one ear and out the other, if you leave then they've won. I'm right behind you :)

I totally agree - you are an inspiration DD and altough I did not see the Troll thing I am sure you did not do anything wrong. I think a lot of people live in a fantacy world when they go online so they properly just envy us because they themselves have lots of debts. I think this thread will be lost without you DD and I really don't feel like carrying on if you go. We are 6 months in and have all done so well. 1/2 mill paid off that is some achievement and we even got a mention by Martin when you set it up.

    Please reconsider -

Just a quick note to say that I'm tired of my Dithering Dad username and the odd people that seem to monitor it, so that whenever I have a heated debate they jump out from all sides and have a go at me.

I apologise to anyone who has felt that I have argued the MFW case too strongly but as I have said many times I do get annoyed when people who have not taken the time to get to know us, condemn our aim to be debt free (yes mortgages are debts, what a surprise).

Why do these people not go into other boards and try and stop them from investing in pensions or ISAs or shares or whatever. Why does our desire to be MF cause them so much anguish?

I'm tired of being trailed around MSE by these people, and I am also concerned that they may cause the MFi3 thread to be locked/deleted just to get at me, which would be really unfair to everyone else. Hence I've decided to create a new username and enjoy not being DD (and having all this baggage). I will continue to check DD PMs and posts on here and will add new people to the list (oh, and update my signature and PM Tall Girl with my 3 monthly updates) but will no longer post as DD.

Rest assured I will always be rooting for everyone on this thread. :)
Oh poor fed-up DD!! I haven't been on here for ages and am devastated to read about how low you are being made to feel. Please stay. You are my inspiration, and you have made me laugh like a drain, even when the side-effects of chemo and radiotherapy got me down. We all love you. And if you have bolstered others as you have me, then I can see deification, no less. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Ooo, TallGirl...I'm so sorry that you too are down-hearted. You and DD have been doing a fantastic job. Please don't throw it all in. I'm sure we can all rise above the nastiness of the trolls. Big hug. XXXXX

DD, there are more people who find your posts valuable then those idiots. Can't we have a vote to kick someone off of the forum if they are posting negative comments?

I'm very new, but for what it's worth, I totally agree. The MFW forum would be much poorer without your input, both DD and TallGirl.

Do what you need to do, of course, but for every strange post which implies a disagreement or criticism, please remember there are lots of folks like me who really value what you have to say.

    Don't go DD!
How would we manage to keep on with the chart etc?
Like someone else suggested why not just use the new user name for other threads and keep DD in the cupboard for best?
