Hi Kaz and everyone else.
Kaz,don't listen to your inlaws, they are just jelous, just think in a couple of years you will be able to sit back and relax with no debts or mortgage and they will probably be struggling to make ends meet.
My DH and I have to work opposite shifts so that our 2 children always have one of us there, the days he works I don't and vise versa, some days I finish a shift, get home and he immediatly leaves the house to start his shift,we don't get days off together unless we are both on holiay, but thats what you have to do to pay the bills and make sure the kids are looked after.
Can you tell we both work in a shop lol.
Ps I am in the middle of remortgaging to hopefully a better deal so will have a better idea of figures for the next chart.
Good luck everyone and chin up:TMfit member no 13 original balance £44000

plumduff55 - wow good on you - inspiration that we all need - I can't wait till I say that - just saying MFi3years is a feel good moment but MFi3months well done - what do you hope to save up for/ spend some money on next?[/quote]
Hi Sarahe, I don't think I'll go daft when my mortgage is paid but I am really looking forward to upping my food allowance and treating myself to beef olives or steak occasionally ! I will also increase my petrol spending so that I can visit family/friends more.
My DS2 is getting married in Santorini next summer and my great 10 year old micra is on it's last legs (or should I say wheels ?LOL).
So I guess I'll still be budgeting and saving for the forseeable future !!!Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

I was in Santorini for my friends wedding last year. Its amazing! The Caldera is beautiful, as are all the houses etc clinging to the top of cliffs and hills! What a lovely place for your DS2 to get married! Which bit of the island is it going to be at?Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Hi Taka, he's getting married at Santo Winery next July and we'll be staying in Kamari, really excited - not having a mortgage then will let me splash out a bit.
Can you pm me with any tips or hints you may have re where to visit, nice places to eat and more importantly a HAIRDRESSER !!!

Hi Kaz,
just read your post and wanted to offer my support. I remember when me and DH had to work opposite times to each other just to keep our heads above water. I used to be up all day with the kids then go and do a 12 hour night shift and then look after the kids all day again when they were young. One year we only had 3 weekends together! You do what you have to do and you are being a responsible parent by looking after their needs by going out to work and providing for them. Take no notice of comments from people and do what you have to do. The way I see it, you'll never reget being mortgage free.
Anyhoo, the upside of working opposite hours to hubby is that you never argue!
I'm doing as much work as I can get my hands on at the mo and hammering down the mortgage.Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

Did anyone spot the glaring error in my sig where I thought I had cleared 7% when it was only 6%?:o Sorry about that chaps!
So I finally bit the bullet and decided that I really must go and do some shopping as we had no fruit/bread in the house. I spent £35.39 and got some socks and tights for dd, a couple of teaching tools for DD and DS and some ST's. When I got to the checkout I chose a young chappy and stuck the ST's right at the front and then handed him all my vouchers. He spent 5 minutes scanning them and I shouldn't have been able to use them all in one go!
At the end of it I had saved £12.12 and earned 700+ clubcard points. I paid cash and transferred the £12.12 straight over to my mortgage.
If anyone actualy cares, my final figure is standing at a repayment of £618.25 to my Mum for her loan. This will be from wages for September 2013 (Paid 22/08/2013). My final mortgage payment should be £398.25 from January 2013's wages (paid 22/12/2012).
Obviously if I am able to meet my goal of clearing the September 2013 payment then I will be clearing the mortgage a month earlier too as any overpayment I have to hand will always go to the mortgage as I pay interest on that.
I am quite motivated now to clear this lot as I want it gone!
I have a lot of books to amazon which I will start sticking on this week and I have some clothes to ebay which I wil start sticking on in the next few days.
Checking on my snowball shows me that at the current rate of repayment I will be 2437.76 short of my target in April 2010. So this is another thing to focus on thrashing away. £82 a month will clear this. I need to start getting more inventive I feel!
On a plus note, the fish that we brought back from holiday is still going strong and every penny I have actually used for groceries has been offset by clubcard vouchers!
Does anyone else find that they have got this far in and are so used to living on this budget and chucking the extra at the mortgage that you feel like you aren't actually doing anything now?
I'm going to have to start letting the interest on savings repay what has been borrowed so that I can chuck more at the mortgage. Then I can use the interest earned each month to be able to pay off the mortgage. I still have to activate my two Egg cards and will then do a balance transfer to the mortgage. I need to get some savings accounts sorted out first though to deposit money into. I want to get the best possible deal out of it as it's going to cost me money to do it!
Anyway I'm ramling so I will go now!Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0
