I did take it back the same day about dent in box, manager said they wouldn't replace it. Just dug the receipt out, and the manage has written that I can bring it back for exchange within the first year if a screen fault happens, as the box was dented when I bought it, does this give me any extra rights? Can another store say no?
    New information supplied.

Why didn't you say that yesterday?

5 year guarantee or not, JL would still want to repair the TV first.

True , but JL do provide loan sets as part of the repair service :)

Why bother asking a question and then the next day reveal that you already have the answer?
    Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.
  • Why are you asking if you have the above in bold written?

Only dug out the receipt this morning, completely forgot it was written there. Also called original store, and the member of staff that signed it, has since left working there. Will this effect what is written?

Go back to the shop with your receipt and stand your ground, the old member of staff was acting on behalf of the company at the time so id say you have grounds for an exchange.

Just to play devil advocate, what if you wrote it yourself and are trying it on.

It may come down to a he said she said, and without any proof (I mean, lets be honest here, it's the internet, not everything you say is believable) and having it written in such a unofficial way is also questionable.

You can try it back at the original store, but if they say no then standing your ground may be a fruitless effort, even a judge would have trouble finding against Currys for breach of contract.
