Anyone bought from Play.com?

I noticed that in Play’s term & conditions it states:

“If your delivery address is outside of Jersey, you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Any such additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you. You should note that customs policies vary widely from country to country; Play.com advises each customer to contact their local customs office for further information.”


I’m just wondering if anyone has incurred any import duties or taxes on anything they have bought from Play.

I would imagine that you would get away without charges if your purchase was under a certain value, however I wonder if more expensive items would be targeted, DVD players TV’s etc.

I have bought expensive and inexpensive items ...never had a problem with paying excess duty. Service is spot on - dont forget Quidco!

i buy a lot of play and never been any problems,in fact im away to have a look of there site now

In the past I use to buy loads from Play and PlayUSA not so much now I have never had any issues I think I may have done once with either CDWOW or DVDBoxOffice for a very expensive boxset but that was at least 5 years ago now but Play no problems.

My Son has a delivery from them every other day or so it seems , and has never had to pay any duty.
