The contract doesn't finish, it goes on. The minimum term finishes.
If you are worried about the ETC, then firstly, it's OOT and secondly, you can only guess how expensive (or not) the old contract was.
And finally, as the OP was going abroad it was reasonable to do all this before leaving.
I am aware that it is the minimum term not the actual end of contract. i was puzzled about how the OP could just tell the provider to end the contract. When I asked Virgin about upgrading before next July, i was told firmly that it wasn't possible until 1 month before the end of the contract.0 -
All points are valid:
1) Yes, I should check DDs, and yes, I could do that from abroad - but this is my process and my responsibility. Surely theirs is more important as they have a liability to all their customers?
2) Grumbler is right - I sorted the new phone before I left (about 3 days IIRC).
3) I'll let you know how the dispute progresses.
Thanks all for your help0 -
must admit to cancel you would've been told you need to pay X amouny prob 2 months monthly charge.
Also whats happened to the phone in meantime? Daughter hasn't used it still?
Sounds to me like the cancellation wasn't fully completed if you didn't get a contract settlement amount. Sucky.0
