That's your opinion, but evidently the OP feels it's a matter of principle.razorbladekisses wrote: »I think it's totally pointless making such a fuss over having to pay fees of under £10.
If more people actually stood up for the principles in which they believe companies like eBay and PayPal would not get away with a lot of the cr*p that they do

Thanks - and thats exactly where I am coming from. I would rather not deal with a company thats policies advocate fraudulent activity. Even if that means cutting my nose to spite my face.
The money is not the point - its eBays attitude. They do not make it clear (atleast I did not pick up on the fact) that a mutual agreement risks you losing any FVF credits. I bet many hundreds, if not thousands of people fall for this - and how much are eBay making from this.
eBay are the worst company I have dealt with. They have no face - they will not speak to you directly, not answer you questions - they simply reply with canvass responses, and their live chat is miserable. They also have a policy of cutting you off even when you are simply being firm, but not rude.
If thats the way they conduct business, I can do without. To Stooze or Not To Stooze - Theres only one option

I'm afraid the principle of closing your ebay account in protest doesn't count for much if you intend to open another. My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
You asked for advice. Sorry, I should have checked that my opinion matched yours prior to posting
You're here slagging off eBay yet want to open another account lol makes no sense whatsoever.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Yes, Im slagging off eBay - however, what I am protesting at are the fees - they are not legitimate - the transaction did not proceed - of which I have written evidence from the buyer which eBay choose to ignore.
If I get away with opening a second account then fine - but it doesnt particularly bother me if I dont. My main stance is that eBay will not get fees that are not valid.
The millions they must be making from these types of transactions must be outragious.
I own a Vauxhall Astra (company car) - and its the worst car I have ever owned. Does that mean I will stop driving it because its a shed! Im stuck with it - and unfortunately until (if ever) some decent competitors compete against eBay - we are stuck with their policies.
Doesn't mean you can't make a stand against them!To Stooze or Not To Stooze - Theres only one option

What happens if someone pays to an unconfirmed paypal account? Does it just sit with paypal til you have somewhere to send it to, or does it not get accepted, and the money bounced back to the the buyer/sender?"I have enough money to last me the rest of my life, unless I buy something."0

What on earth is this about?razorbladekisses wrote: »You asked for advice. Sorry, I should have checked that my opinion matched yours prior to posting
I can't see anywhere where the OP has even mentioned your post.
Or are you just complaining that he did not immediately fall into line with your way of thinking. :rolleyes:0 -
I knew you would respond seeing as you appear to get a kick out of disagreeing with people on this board in general.
The OP came on here asking for advice which a few of us have given. He/she doesn't seem to want to take on board any of the advice given as he/she obviously knows best, so why bother asking in the first place!
How ridiculous is it to ask eBay to close your account (with outstanding fees), slag them off saying how crap they are blah blah blah and yet want to open another account. Quite funny really.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

razorbladekisses, that response is just childishly stupid.razorbladekisses wrote: »I knew you would respond seeing as you appear to get a kick out of disagreeing with people on this board in general.
The whole point of a forum is for people to discuss things. That implies there will be a certain amount of disagreement. Trying to score points by telling a poster who does not agree with you that they 'get a kick out of disagreeing with people' is mere petulance.
The OP never even mentioned your post but you still said: "Sorry, I should have checked that my opinion matched yours prior to posting", which is, again, simply sarcastic petulance because he didn't agree with you.
You need to learn that a forum is a place where people are very likely to disagree. Discussing those disagreements is the whole raison d'etre of a forum. If you don't want to risk people disagreeing with you, then you would be well advised not to post here; simple as that.0 -

Taking on board advice is fine, and I appreciate any constructive comments on here - however, as the other poster mentions, you are simply imposing your ideas, and not simply stating you thoughts. You also seem to be trying to score points - which is fine if it gives you your kick, but Im personally not interested in labouring the point. If I dont agree with something, I will state it - this is an open discussion forum.
At the end of the day - im sure you have been messed about by companies, and gone back there (either becuase they are cheaper, or more convenient).
For me B&Q are a prime example, which I will not get into here. If you roll over, and let large companies get away with practices that are not ethical, they will continue to do so. I'm simply making a stand against them - doesn't mean if I cant get away with it I will continue to use their service as there are no alternatives. To Stooze or Not To Stooze - Theres only one option
