@Johnnytwostep You really think there are lots of jobs out there? I have a part time minimum wage job advertised right now. I have had almost 200 applications for it in 2 days.0

Nothing against your applicants but how many of them actually want your job. I'm going to take a wild guess but I'd say the majority of those applicants just clicked APPLY on the website to forward their saved CV to you and didn't actually make any effort to apply for your specific job. It's very easy to click APPLY and move on. In my local area we don't even have 200 suitable unemployed people close enough and willing to work part time for minimum wages...that would be 10% of all the jobseekers in my town...and this is a fairly reasonable sized town with about 42,000 people in some form of employment and a population of about 70,000.@Johnnytwostep You really think there are lots of jobs out there? Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

@HappyMJ
No I didn't use that method - they had to email me with a cover letter because I too thought that would happen and also I wanted an idea of their language and IT skills.
If you look on the universal jobmatch website now, most employers are doing the same - not many jobs that can be applied for with just 1 or 2 clicks. Many of the applicants are careless with applications; spelling mistakes, lack of capitalisation, punctuation etc. But after skimming the CVs I would estimate a good 30% are school, college and university leavers or haven't been able to find work since.
Some didn't bother to write a cover letter or simply copy and pasted one.
I live in a town of 250'000 and I have had applications from as far as 50 miles away.0 -

Could you please tell me what freebies are they, I presume you read the daily mail where they dish up stories of "benefits claiming 220k a year rubbish and every pound of tax paid 3 quid goes on benefits....
Yet in central london (or anywhere ) people are living on 60.00 a week if lucky
This tax myth has got to be debunked, every one pays 1.50 pw to ni or 5.43 contrbutions per person net pay yet people claiming Ib or tax credit working take home 27.88 of that.....not bad for tossing in a fiver eh? You get back 27.00 per fiver put in in tax credits working or child benefit.... and for working also
