Cars parking on private property?

I live in rented flat in a block of flats that has a private car park (for residents only) and a small area in front of the flats where cars can park for unloading. All residents are issued with parking permits and there are signs in the car park and the unloading area which state that it is private property and unauthorised parking will be removed or clamped (these signs are from a private towing/clamping company).
Anyway, various cars but specifically a taxi are constantly parking in the unloading area because they don't want to pay the parking charges to park on the road. This means that residents cannot bring their cars in to unload stuff and when people leave the building they have to squeeze past the taxi or other cars. The taxi parks there to go for his lunch at a local cafe and is often parked for 2 hours at a time.
We have left several polite notes asking him not to park there as it is private property but he is still parking there. He ignores the warning sign as I don't think the towing/clamping company really exist and if they do, I have never seen them tow anyone from either the car park or the unloading area. I know where he lives as I see his taxi parked in his actual drive later in the day. Is there anything we can do to stop him from parking there as this is stopping us from parking and unloading shopping with children which is stressful at the best of times?

Is it a private taxi or a company car? If a company one complain to his boss.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Ask the landlord to place a chain and padlock and give everyone a copy of the key.
Problem solved.Be happy...;)0 -
Have a whip-round, and buy a cheap wheel clamp!0

you cant clamp or box his car in, u can be fined and jailed, your landlord cant chain him in either, the only thing is a chain across when only residents are there then give them keys, anything else they can ring police and you are in big trouble0

As much as I hated car clampers - this is a problem since you can no longer clamp cars that park on private land and the parking charges are a waste of time.
What recourse do land-owners and, as in this case, legitimate users of the land have?

Make sure that there's no CCTV, and nobody admits to placing the clamp.
The guy will be so pizzed off that he will never return.0 -

If he is boxed in and can't get his taxi out, the police won't do anything if the owners of the cars move them within a reasonable time.
Once the taxi driver has to start knocking on doors to find the owners and then wait for them to move their vehicles and the delays start costing him money, he may just find somewhere else to park.I know where he lives as I see his taxi parked in his actual drive later in the day0 -
Unfortunately the signs no longer have any meaning as it is illegal to clamp or remove cars that are parked on parked on private property.
I would go with Peter-the-piper's suggestion and ring up the taxi co saying that if they don't sort it, you will make sure that their firm will never be used by the residents. Only problem with that is, it may actually be a one man band outfit and the driver is actually his own boss.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
Call his taxi firm with fake bookings until he agrees to stop....The man without a signature.0

So do the new rules mean you can just park on someone's driveway with impunity so long as their car is out and you are not blocking a car in?0
