Family Member Died - o2 want all the money.

  • I would call O2 and ask to speak to bereavement services, this email is actually generated every time an account is closed for these reasons, however normally the contact email address/home address and numbers are all changed to an O2 office one to stop the relatives getting this hassle. I'd imagine its a mistake more than anything else, quick call should sort it out.

    Having dealt with my father's and brother's affairs in the past, my biggest recommendation would be to simply do everything in writing.

    Nothing needs to be done "urgently", paperwork will need to be seen in due course, things can be back-dated and altered where necessary, but I do find letters generally get passed to the correct offices to deal with. It does take months to get all things wound up properly. If there is a nominated named executor, it is actually their job to do this.

    It also takes away the stress of talking directly to anyone at a difficult time.
