Parcel collection!

Hi I was just wondering if anyone has any experience in either couriers or RM collecting a number of parcels from home? I've been looking into it but it seems so confusing and I know some courier companies aren't very reliable etc. Im considering this option now as in June Im going to have 2 babies under 2 and with the business growing its seems ideal! I've had a brief look and courier companies seem to be so expensive! Also at what number of parcels being posted a day do you think will be needed to make this feasible?

  • Hi, have been looking at this too as I typically spend over £800 per month at the post office.
I think you need to spend over £15000 per year on Royal Mail products to qualify for a free collection.
I think I saw something about 5000 parcels per year as well, but I can't find it now - I reckon I send about 3000
  • Thanks for that info. Im working around the same sort of volume as you so looks like I'll have to build up a bit more first! Hoping to be there by the time baby number 2 arrives. Maybe when Im on a minimum of 20 parcels a day even during quiet periods I'll look into a bit more!

  • Have you got a post box near you? If your items fit in the post box you can buy stamps and post them yourself to save going to the post box

I think receipts will be fine as I buy stamps in bulk and use those bulk receipts in my books.

However I agree that I am not sure a business would be best suited by having no proof of posting for anything. I do use th epost box with no POP for smaller items, especially at this time of year, but I would not want to do it for really expensive items or on a regular basis. I would also have an issue in that much of my stock goes in a box and would therefore not fit in a Post Box.
