Being taken to small claims late bill payment

As explained above, it is a lengthy and formal process to put a claim through the court, and to repeat, getting you in court is not something they want to happen.
Everything you have stated(or rather has been extracted from you) smacks of the usual DCA scare tactics.
Edit - post crossed
It is nothing to do with being unsympathetic, just trying to establish the position with the Court - which was your original query.
You have simply failed to answer Keystone or my questions.
I don't see how it can be DCA when on.gov website claimant is Anglia Water. I know it's silly in a way of them to initiate a court claim, as there has never been an instance of me not paying them. They are doing this because they have a monopoly, I can't switch water suppliers. Other companies roll over quarterly charges and add a bit for late payment, these prats take a long time customer to court via online moneyclaim.gov.uk because they know you can't switch supplier.0 -
So a wind-up thread then?

Calling them prats isn't going to change the fact that they provided a service and you have failed to pay them. As other users have said there would have been several previous attempts of contact by the water company before they sent you a court form.0

Maybe his internet connection was cut off for non-payment, making it impossible to provide us with his "full explanation".0

Just to update, we won, claim dismissed! Will be getting other ex-students involved in a possible claim against the claimant for mis selling their insurance/membership.
Thank you all for assistance in the matter.0 -

Are you sure this is the correct thread?
Students? Insurance? membership?

I have just read through all the threads starting from the OP. The title was interesting but the OP stinks! I feel I just wasted a part of my life reading through this. Nothing has been learnt from this post!0
