Vent: Why does nobody phone back when they say they will?

  • When I used to work in a call centre their processes were rubbish, youd log a call back on the persons account expecting it to remind you (which is what its supposed to do) but it never did, and we werent allowed papers and pens at our desk for 'data protection' as they obviously didnt trust the staff!
Sometimes I would promise to look into something and call somebody back when they were being an !!!!!! on the phone just to get them off the phone knowing full well i'll be going home any minute! But that was probably only the last month or so when I just didnt give a crap anymore! I'd have been in looooots of trouble if that was ever found out.
I do call some call centres (especially orange) and it makes me wonder what the hell they are doing! 45mins to answer a call is the average wait time when I call orange! If we left anybody waiting for more than 30 seconds the supervisors were yelling at us all!

Don't blame the monkeys. If you have a complaint speak and blame the organ grinder. Most jobs nowadays are so under-resourced that people find it hard to keep up.

If you have spoken to someone in a call centre and they say they will call you back at a certain time, they may intend to do so. If they have another call that has come 2 mins before yours has it may be delayed as they have to speak to that person.

Don't blame the person - blame the telephony system!
  • How incredibly ridiculous.

You probably need help with that anger.

Don't be silly now. Cairm down, cairm down!

The worse thing of all is if you miss a call and return the call 10 seconds later and get the "caller unavailable" message. Where the heck have they gone to in that 10 seconds?

Most call centres have outbound only telephone numbers.

Grr, this is one of my pet peeves. I hate companies that do this.
