    you can ask for a special mark on your credit file which will tell the bank to do extensive ID checks when you open the account.

    I was stating that they can;t take birth ceriticates over age of 18

    and what id can be taken that does not have photographs

    Yes - I thought you were saying that because Poppy9's post was saying that the birth certificate was required for someone aged 19.
