I got lost in the menu and don't know where to post this, so please feel free to moe it. I was with Talktalk when our equipment broke down. We called and together the technician and I couldn't find a fault so he said he would send out an engineer. No mention of charges. I was charged 96 quid. I called and said I shouldn't hae to pay this and I can't please don't take it. They said we won't. They did. I called and said I can't afford to eat can I hae my money back. I was told certainly. I didn't get it back. I complained to 6 different adisors and was told the bill was right and I would hae to pay it. I switched to BT. When I called to cancel my talktalk suddenly they shouldn't hae charged me for the engineer and I am now entitled to 3 months free rental because they made a mistake in charging me. But because I hae to pay termination fee am now still with Talktalk, but unhappy. I find it funny that you hae to leae for someone to listen to you
Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money but you can't get more time

I had such an horrendous experience when I signed with TalkTalk, that I cancelled within the first 30days and was told that they were still going to take the DD for the rental.
I told them 'Don't bother even trying because it's being cancelled as soon as I put this phone down!'. I then immediately logged into my Internet Banking and cancelled the DD that related to their service and also notified my bank with a phone call to make sure that they had it cancelled in their records.
For ages afterwards, they tried to demand money from me, which I completely ignored and eventually they gave up trying. I KNEW I was within my 30days Trial Period, even though they tried to tell me I wasn't - luckily I had kept hold of every piece of paper/document that I'd had from them and had kept a record of each phone call along with the person's name/what they had said to me.0 -
We had trouble with our line in the summer. Talktalk investigated and kept me informed at every stage.
When there was a possibility of an engineer having to call, I was told about the charge in advance. £50' by the way.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.
(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)0 -
The engineers they charge £50 for don't do anything a mildly-competent person couldn't do themselves.0

TalkTalk are determined to get the prestigious wooden spoon award for as many consecutive years running that they can but people still sign up with them because they are a bit cheaper! more here
Definitely a case of less is more - problems that is! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
It's looking like Orange might win that award this year.
Not because TT have improved, but simply because Orange have gotten shockingly worse and the complaints numbers have soared since the summer (when they started trying to remove free broadband from people who had it as part of their mobile contracts).0
